I'm so intelligent that I thought Special Guests were a band, I thought "now there's a clever name". Somebody mentioned Kele, he was just brilliant last year, one of the highlights for me, I've never been able to see Bloc Party so that was really special. Also I saw a FFAF mention, I saw them the week that Tales Don't Tell Themselves came out and they were awesome because they only played 2 songs from that album and stuck mostly to the classics, History still stands as one of the best songs I've ever seen live. I'd be pretty pleased if they played but I'd have to check out their new albums which I'm dubious about, big fan of Causally Dressed and Hours but not so much Tales Don't Tell Themselves. I wouldn't really like Mumford and Sons, their gig was a bit of a nightmare for me last year, I'm not their biggest fan to say the least, but they would be very popular.

You thought the same thing about Jamie T and look how that turned out.

A Vfest type band that R&L have lost intrest in wouldn't be booked in a spot lower than the one they played last time when they have sold millions of records and people have lost intrest in since.

    • Its just going to be another dementia tax isn't it? The issue is this is going to be seen as a continuation of the labour government that have already raised taxes 1000% above manifesto promises.
    • One thing that Burnham has been talking about is scrapping inheritance tax and replace it with a social care levy ... which would be less progressive, but might be a good idea if was a solution for the social care crisis. Would need to sell it well to a public who would prefer not to pay more tax.
    • Maybe you should put your name forward to be Burnham's chancellor.
    • But I think the point of that Dan Needle tax thing...we need to put up income tax, for all incomes (and thresholds should be unfrozen).
    • There are no easy answers...more than anything we need growth...and probably main ways of getting that is borrowing more to invest in stuff that makes us super sexy, and/or cut taxes on business and wealth generation which would mean less money to spend on public services and welfare and would obviously be super unpopular and get you chucked out of govt. On top of all that got an aging population, a growing welfare bill, a call for higher spending on defence, housing inequality, higher borrowing costs, and probably a load more sh*t on the way due to the Iran war (although so far it hasn't been that bad?)
