Noel Gallagher?

would be a blast if he did a JP headline slot. A nice acoustic set of Oasis classics as a distraction from Coldplay or the Chemical Brothers. His sets at Teenage Cancer trust and union chapel were absolutely fantastic.

I'm up for it, who else agrees?

Back on topic, I'm sure Noel would only play if he has some good new material. I'm also sure that the 'being super-rich' thing plays both ways. He doesn't need the cash and won't be feeling the pinch of the credit crunch, which means he is only likely to play if:

a) he get a huge cash offer

B) he fancies the occasion

Glastonbury always has the hope of pulling the acts with B). So that would be my hope. Overally though, I would have thought that Liam with Beady Eye is a far more likely option.

why is noel acceptable but oasis derided as being shit?

didnt noel write 99% of oasis songs, the majority of which ate total shit?

Why would his solo stuff be anything different?

I've always found it odd how people say they would love noel to play, but the exact same people are those who laugh at and say how awful oasis are.

Weird.

Probably count on one hand the amount of decent songs Noel has written in the last 10 years. Mucky Fingers, Importance of Being Idle, Falling Down, Stop the Clocks.... think thats it. No coincedence that he sang on all of them.

Be good to here the final version of Stop the clocks. There was a leaked album tracklist the other month. Not sure if its legit though.

Noel's amazing. Especially Post-2007. He seems to have grown up, obviously packed all the charleston and stuff in and started a family. The way he performs on his own seems to reflect that as well from what I've heard. He's respectably ageing as opposed to continuing to be a f**king idiot, a la Liam. Would love an acoustic set, and I'm not an Oasis fan.

    • Took my now 12 year old to old Trafford couple of years ago, for his 1st game. He fell asleep during the game, no replies needed. 😃   He is also a Wolves fan, my parenting skills are as good as Onana's goalkeeping skills.
    • A few snaps from Sunday, which was huge fun, plus Happy Mondays, Radio Free Alice, Fratellis and Pale Waves. We didn't stay for The Streets, as after 3-4 songs it felt so downbeat compared to the rest of the day, and i've got another hectic week at work incoming.
    • It was fine, just hectic! The youngsters were mostly very well-behaved. The weather was a real bonus, although surprisingly chilly evenings - I guess it's the altitude - and the area between sound and main stage was a massive dust bowl.
