Rumour thread

Shows how little used the Soni forum is that there isn't already a rumour thread.

Sum 41 have self comfirmed.

Buckcherry have self confirmed.

The Pretty Reckless are playing UK fests but haven't been announced for TITP, Download, IOW and from what they're saying I don't think they have been booked for R&L or Vfests either leaving Soni but could be wrong.

A Day To Remember Copping said they are not playing Download this year but might next so may of have been booked for Soni already.

Jimmy Eat World, playing TITP and supporting Foos around the same time.

Primus, playing a very short tour in the UK around the same time and the people booking the fest has said they're a fans and have tried booking them before.

Papa Roach, Mass Hysteria, Mr Big, Whitesnake, Times Of Grace, Kreator, Judas Priest, Hatebreed, Architects, Hammer Fall, Devil Driver, In Extremo, The Cavalera Conspiracy, Opeth, Graveyard, Sonata Arctica, Stam1na, Virus, Apocalyptica, Labyrinth, Valient Thorr, Guano Apes, Killing Joke, Mustasch, Dead by April, Hunter, Dream Theater have been announced at other Sonis this year but not for Download.

The festival manager pretty much called BS on Buckcherry's self confirm

Primus can't play Sonisphere, Kili did indeed get them to come back to the UK, but they were already fully booked over Sonisphere weekend so won't be doing any UK festivals this year.

Dream Theater are High Voltage exclusive

A day to Remember self confirmed for Warped tour, probably won't do any UK fests this year

That's not confirmed, it was just said they were sharing the stage with Weezer and Biffy. Last year, the top 4 acts on mainstage got their name in their own font, so they could be 3rd or 4th from top...also it's still fairly early on and layouts have a habit of changing so it's pretty difficult to figure it all out. Best to wait and see.

As for Rumours, Social Distortion have a one off show in London on the 8th (though I think they'll end up headlining lock up at Reading). Also Deep Purple have a charity show I think on the 8th in London, so thinking they look likely for SOnisphere, would be a good old band to book as they haven't played festivals in forever afaik and would tick the classic rock box which is currently lacking in Soni's line up!

    • Brazil's first half was genuinely dreadful all round, not just the midfield, so they're absolutely not bulletproof. Whether Scotland have the quality to take advantage is a different question.   Tbf, that's as much on Morocco looking good, which I did think was a possibility. They could be a bit annoyed with themselves not to have scored more before Vini's goal tbh.
    • Surely nowadays with so much data analytics available on every division in world football and so much awareness that people aren't suckered in on the basis of a decent World Cup game... right?   Although tbf, from what I saw, Australia's game plan worked very well. But that was as much thanks to Turkey blowing varying opportunities given they created enough chances but couldn't finish, a la what happened with Switzerland against Qatar when they really could and should've won by 3/4 goals.
    • I missed Viagra Boys for a good spot for Gorillaz. Was a nice weekend and festival for me. Would definitely come back, if the line up is right. Get back home safe everyone.
    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
