The Strokes, My Chemical Romance, Muse

Well, after all of the other festivals announcments this year MCR, The Strokes and Muse don't look too bad. Not exactly my cup of tea they are all watchable, depending upon clashes. If these were the headliners last year I would have saw ash and alkaline trio on two of the days and watched whoever was headlining the sat @ Leeds.

I'm starting to think that the whole bill will be good, sonisphere and download have hardley any bands I'd expect to see at R&L this year, and I would hope that the likes of Beady Eye, the streets and the view are picked up by V.

I think we could pick up the manics maybe. There are real possibilities of soundgarden, the offspring amongst other bands that are a bitleft field being announced.

If Melvin can(or has) played his cards right then there is a big chance it could be the place to be this summer.

I think I'm gonna try and convince some friends to come agian this year, I better get to it.

A lot of the headliner/non headliner rumours don't appeal to me but what's annoying is I will spend most of my time on the Lock Up stage so I can't make a decent decision of is it worth going to this year until the 3rd announcement and a lot of the bands on the Lock Up will be at Slam Dunk which I'm going to anyway

Tickets bought last year. Hoping for some big surprises. If not, there's always Viagogo (sold at face value). For now I'm staying positive, believing MCR to be nothing other than a diversion from the real announcement of Daft Punk!

Well there is a couple of things to consider.

1. What else will you do August Bank Holiday?

2. Are your friends going to R&L?

3. Would you be willing to pay £210(a guess) to see those bands again considering its only £32.50 for slam dunk.

4. Do you have the money to go to R&L?

5.What else would you spend that money on?

It is a hell of a lot of money to part with if you have already seen the majority of the bands on offer.

I dunno if I'm going to Leeds this year, but number 1 on that list is really starting to pick away at me.

I know it's rhetorical but...

1, I have always fancied Creamfields but never gone due to it being the same time as Reading

2, Yep, there's always someone I know going

3, Yep, I'm happy seeing the likes Capdown, Skints, Sonic Boom Six never get tired and I enjoy the happy circle pits

4, No problem

5, Money isn't the problem, it's my holiday leave at work. Ignoring my small festivals I only have room 2 biggies and Reading is good as it's a bank holiday so that's even less used but I would fancy Bestival and Download have System & Zombie (f**king brilliant when I saw him last week) plus my mates are talking Soni too but I'd still would go to reading if it's a decent Lock Up of say Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Capdown but by the time I know what's on it'll be a pain to organize my other fests.

I'm doing Download and the Foos @ MKBowl on the Saturday, I fancied Soni as well but I think its too close to the Foo's money wise and its quite a way to go for me to get to. I think I'll be at Leeds for those two reasons, then again I would love to try one of the festivals abroad that way it could be turned into a holiday as well which would suit my GF.

Me and a few mates are going Rock am Ring this year for the 2nd time, it's amazing and well worth the treck :) line up wise, it always seems to get a good mix of the bands that are playing uk festivals and the atmosphere in the camping areas is a lot more laid back and people seem a lot more respectful of one another than they do at Reading. Tickets are cheaper as well, although beer can be on the expensive side and for some reason it doesn't come in pint form. You should go for it, you won't regret it!

Yeah, everyone I have spoke to either on here or in real life has said it's a great festival and well worth it.

I even started looking into it a few years back and it is pretty cheap if you don't get a flight and go coach, about the same price as R&L tix for both travel and tix but I'm useless when it comes to languages (I once worked for a German company and use to deal with them all the time and it was painful for them) and the idea of being somewhere I can't talk to people puts me off and I don't like going to festivals by myself anyway.

Still one day I will definitely go!

I'd love to go to Coachella. The appeal of spending a festival laying down in the desert with the hot California sun beating down on my pale, English body sounds almost too good to be true, and to top off the fresh coat of red body paint I'll have a great soundtrack.

I wants.
