How terrible all this has been. Imagine, going to work the neet..just doin yer graft like...but by the morrer..yer whole life has been turned uside down--and all of a sudden --yer f**ked.

Not much worse in the terms of employment in our civilised soceity.

Theres risks in everything eh. More so in the police force/army/navy/fireservice etc... but you know that when you join up.

The PC bloke is still on the news a lot up here (dont know about anywhere else).. I`ve heard him on the radio..and he speaks with the highest dignity..and proud to be a policeman..and the only thing he needed to do was to get back to work to finish the shift he didnt last year.

He`s started a charity for others who have been in similar positions.

Theres been nothing I`ve heard him say that hasn`t humbled me and sometimes brought me to tears.

But.. hark at this....

He is now considering suing the Police for 1 Million Pounds (nice round figure) and I have just read an article containing :

"It is understood the case is based on claims that he and his colleagues had received no warning that Moat had dialled 999 and told a call handler he was "hunting for officers" minutes earlier."

Sorry like... nah. Thats wrong imo. With all the words I`ve wrote above times 50... it is quite simply wrong for his advisors to simply "go after" the Police on the grounds given.

f**k me.. shall I blame all of Hartlepool for my sister dying cos nobody came forward with a kidney eh!! GRRRR!

Its shite whats happened to him..terrible..so ok--apportion blame onto somebody for him receiving no warning... did anybody warn the poor bastard who Moat shot in the back.. and chased him and shot him again? NO!

Todays litigious soceity truly makes me f**kin sick.

I really hope he doesn`t get it..or even go with the advice he`s been given. Wonder what Public Opinion will make of it all.

The DEER doesn`t give a shit ...

If he was sent into a situation without a vital piece of knowledge that could have saved him from being severely injured, and it then turned out that his superiors were in full possession of that piece of information; then yes, he has every right to claim for negligence.

An officer has the right to expect to be fully briefed about the situation he is sent into, and to me the fact that Moat was 'hunting officers' has a direct effect of an officers safety. Yes it's a tragedy what happened, and no I don't know the details of exactly what happened, but this isn't a war... police officers are not cannon fodder, acceptable casualties are not an option anymore.
