Festival Map: Map your campsites and find your friends before you go

only drawback is, reception at festivals is usually balls, especially 3G. and I know a lot of people leave their smartphones at home and take shitty alternatives due to the large amount of thievery.

sound interesting, just sayin....

Hmm, maybe I read too much into the phrase "before they go" in the introductory paragraph.

Edit: & You're absolutely right that that is not how it works though. It would never work like that and that was my sort of point.

The idea is pre-gaming; to get involved before you go. How often have your separate group of mates said "Yea we're going... not sure where we're going to camp though." Why not get all those people involved in one mass campsite? The more the merrier.

you're camped in kidney mead. your mates camped at the other side of glastonbury. you both 'plot' where you've camped on this map and you can see where each other are camped easily on the map. without giving shitty directions or 'im near this flag and a yellow tent'

would need to see it in practice but seems a cool idea if all parties use it.

but nah, does latitude have the glastonbury festival site marked out? i know it's 6 of one, but it's handier if it's got pyramid stage listed and brothers bar etc. i'm bad enough knowing how to work out t in the park layout from a blank aerial of the site, let alone glastonbury.

Yeah you could do that, as Latitude is part of Google Maps so you can create a user map then add that on as a layer in Latitude.

Infact with Latitude, you can basically stalk someone as you can 'check in' places (for example Brothers Bar) so would make it easy to meet people etc.

In the admin panel on Latitude, you can even see stats for where you have been, such as work, trips away, flights, time at home etc.. loads of information available (providing you allow your phone to send the data)
