PULP

I know there was similar post a while ago but I can't find it so sorry for starting a new one!

I'm a huge Pulp fan and am desperate to catch them at least once this summer, I cant make wireless so are they still likely to play glastonbury, even after the headliners seem to have been confirmed? I'll be devastated if I miss out on their reunion, and I can't think of a better location than glastonbury!

From what Neil has said it sounds as though they may well be playing before Beyonce. There are presumably only six slots left they could play. Personally I'll be hoping for the Other Stage but who knows.

We seem to have a lot of bands rumoured for those six slots: Chems, Arcade Fire, Primal Scream, Pulp, The Libertines, Biffy Clyro, REM.

I'm slightly mystified by all the hype surrounding Pulps reunion, their

1995 headline slot is the stuff of legend and rightly so but that was

A long time ago now. I saw them at Guilfest(not sure which year)where

They phoned in a performance that was at best lacklustre and they. Seemed

To be in terminal decline.

There will always be excitement around the reunion of a band who are their peak blew people's minds.

For every Blur there is a Verve and the jury is out on how good a reformation Pulp will be but I think it's fair to assume that they won't be playing as they were shortly before the end but will have a totally new lease of life.

Pulp will be a lot more fired up than they were 9 or 10 years ago when they were coming to an end I would imagine.

Whats with all the negativity on here towards The Verve? I only watched it on the tv like, but I thought they put in a quality performance. Fair enough they didn't interact with the crowd as much as they could, but they performed the songs brilliantly, Ashcroft sung brilliantly and he still looked like a cool bastard as well. I remember Love Is Noise at the end being particularly brilliant.

I'm perfectly calm but thanks for your concern. As I said before, over and over again, I wasn't certain they'd headline, but I was certain they deserved to. And I still am so nothing's changed really.

Let's face it, you were after a reaction so don't try an act like the victim. And you're after another one with your "deserved" comment. Anyway, i'm not going to argue with someone without the intelligence to know the difference between "there" and "they're"

I had moved on, you brought it up to be smug, do you want me to apologise for being wrong about the headliners? Would that give you an ego boost and make you feel good?

Considering we were arguing about this the other week, I can't help but think you were taking the piss. What's mental about that?! Maybe we should call it quits eh?

Nobody sane is thinking that there could be a repeat of the 1995 gig. It was exactly the right band at exactly the right moment under exactly the right circumstances and quite clearly can't be redone.

However what people are (or should be) expecting is 90 minutes odd of classic songs played by the only band that's ever been able to convincingly pull off that very british, down to earth seediness. Nothing more, nothing less.
