Have efest heard anything about libs? Would be the greatest thought I was lucky enough seeing them last year at reading but this would be incredible

Someone has posted in one of the threads here to say they've heard thru a contact of theirs that they've been offered the headline slot on the Other Stage on the Sunday. eFestivals can't confirm the accuracy of that, but we've no reason to doubt it.

As well as that we've had a little info of our own, which suggests that it's quite possible that they'll be playing Glastonbury &/or V Festival.

Pete Doherty has said they have been offered to play a number of gigs.

Considering they are money-grabbing w*nkers I can see V Festival nabbing them. Glasto in comparison offers peanuts, but apparently Pete is a big fan of the festival and I swear the Libs pulled out one year.

"money grabbing bastards" is a bit over the top don't you think?

If someone said to you "Look you're going to reunite at some point, can I give you this big pile of money and secure you for our event".... Your telling me you would say "No thanks. Those millions don't interest me"

2009. Pete Doherty was booked for a secret set at the Queens Head just a few hours after his set on the other stage - which doesn't really make any sense unless if he was just going to play another solo set. Somehow he didn't quite manage to make it between stages so the set was cancelled just before he was due on. My litterpicking mates saw Carl Barat stumbling about the park quite f**ked and quite pissed off at around 6 the following morning which proves that he was definitely on site as well. So I'm convinced that The Libertines were supposed to have played that year n' all.

Carl goes to Glastonbury every year, whether he's playing or not. So him being seen there doesn't necessarily mean anything regarding The Libs.

Word I had back at that time was that there defo wasn't anything happening.

Not necessarily. The Libs have always been a bit of a niche act, so (say) if Pulp were the Pyramid headliner at the same time as Libs were on the other, The Libs would draw mostly just their obsessive fans.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
