I have no inside knowledge in the slightest however...reading between the lines I believe these to be headlining...Michael Has said they are the three biggest bands in the world this year...obviously this is down to opinion..they are all bands...fact..Michael loves eagles..big friends with coldplay...u2 announced glasto sale date on their own website...he also stated he has booked an American act he has wanted for years...eagles fit that statement...u2 could fit it in with their American dates...coldplay are playin fests..and I believe eagles to be in Europe during the same time as glasto...I think u2 and coldplay r nailed on...only doubt is eagles cause of the money...but think they could get round this with uk advertising by playin the fest...thoughts?apologise if any of my facts r wrong...only an opinion of mine

I really like the Eagles. So If you have a ticket I wont be buying you a cider. You are spending to much of you energy on negative comments. B)

you know, CS&N, James Taylor, Mike Nesmith, Gram parsons, Joni Mitchell, Jackson Brown, David Ackles, The Byrds, Gene Clark, all beautiful wonderful uplifting stuff. Real, and from the heart.

Sorry man, I really am. It's just they took all the music I love, all the greatest country rock from the late 60s/early 70s, all that wonderful creative beautiful stuff made by artists, visionaries and f**kups and then soulessly, carefully planned how to use it to make money in the most cynical way possible. People talk about plastic bands, about manufactured pop, about how they hate, I dunno, Lady Gaga, Take That, whatever but the Eagles are just as bad, maybe worse in my book for cynically destroying music and art

It's cool, I'll stand *you* a cider :) It'll be my pleasure. Love to have a proper chat about this, not internet nonsense :)

you don't like The Eagles because you like The Band...?

why Journey Of The Sorcerer..?

because it was used in HHGTTG?

I think a lot of punters decided they don't like them because of The Big Lebowski

The Hitch Hikers guide to the galaxy, possibly the greatest book to ever come out of the publishing house of Megadodo Publications, partly because it's cheap and features the words "Don't Panic" in large, friendly letters on the cover" etc.

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
