Take That v Jay Z

There's a lot of debate around whether or not Take That 'deserve' to headline Glastonbury, much like there was when Jay Z headlined in 2008, so my question is, who is the more deserving headliner? I watched Jay Z in 2008 and thought he was great but, in my opinion, all bands that headline a festival on the main stage, must have at least 3 big albums with say 2/3 stand-out tracks on each album, which dare I say it, have been big hits. It's a festival crowd, it's not the time to play your new/experimental stuff. Now, I'm sure lots of people will start jumping up and down about the talentless quintet vs the world's most famous hip hop star, but I think Take That would be bigger crowd pleasers.

What do others think?

For the record, I'd be pretty surprised if Take That do play and am not necesarily convinced they 'fit' at Glastonbury, but you never know...

Jay Z all the way. I actually recall Jay Z in 2008 being bloody amazing! Take that will just be depressing. Not in a Radiohead way but in a OMG this is so shit kill me now sort of way.

Not really sure what you question is but..

Jay z has had 11 number one albums in America, one more than Elvis and has sold 50 milllion plus records worldwide so I guess his time had come.

Take That might be a bigger crowd pleaser as everyman and his dog knows there songs and could sing along.

who cares, stay off the pyramid stage , dont get squashed and maybe see something more memorable (eg Thom Yorke at the park, Sasha at the Glade, flaming lips on the other stage, to name but 3 from last year)

weather someone deserves to play or not, one thing is for certain Jay Z is a lot more credible as an artist.
