I would prefer names to be drawn from a hat to the system we had this year, at least its fair. If some people were able to hog the connections and rebook more then the 8 allowed, the system is clearly flawed. If the see tickets system was giving priority to certain connections will we end up with groups of people from places with the best/preferred Internet connections.

They remain an exclusive community of 'your friends' however. Everyones friendship networks could be said to be an example of an exclusive community of people. But who decides which of those communities should get tickets? See's current system allows any one member of one of those communities to get tickets for all other members of that community in one single session - to the detriment of others still trying to get in - comprised of either individuals or other members of other communities.

Nope - I am simply compiling a list of contacts who I will contact the minute a resale comes up. I have promised no-one that I will get tickets for them. In any case, batting bank account numbers about is not a good idea.

I'm sure those efesters are very grateful for you getting them tickets. As I have said, I'm only of the opinion that its a little unfair to get 60, 70, 80 or more tickets for people through a single session, hogging the system when others are trying to get in.

It was a greater number than that that failed to get tickets. There were approx 875,000 trying on Sunday.

It's still a risk for any tout. So there's better opportunities they'll go for in preference - after all, any tout will have a fixed amount of money to work with, and they'll go for the easiest tickets to get and the easiest to sell, along with the tickets they can turn over the quickest.

The turnover with Glasto tickets is poorer than for just about any other ticket, because their touting money would be tied up from October until they had the ticket in their hand to sell in June. Instead they could have turned over tickets for (say) 4 shows over that time, and made 4 times the profit that they'd make with the far slower turning-over Glasto tickets.

Agreed. The flaws are acknowledged in paragraph 4 of post 171, and then two posts latewr we're told that, apparently, people aren't unhappy about it. As I've tried to point out elsewhere, it is possible to be grumpy about both and for the one to exacerbate the other.

Yes, I recognise that it exacerbates things, but the major part of your unhappiness is the fact that you've not got a ticket.

If you'd have got a ticket, would you be complaining at the same level about any part that you feel wasn't fair?

Not a chance in hell!!!

How is it exclusive? Anyone is welcome to join eFestivals, come to eFest Camps at festivals, come to meets/nights out etc.. there is no clique as some people are branding it.. we are very much a group of friends who look out for each other. How is that any different to say a community/group of 8 friends all trying and one getting through and booking all 8 tickets? It's no different.. social networking is here to stay, maybe you should join facebook ;)

So by you compiling a list of contacts, and alerting this community that tickets are available, you are excluding others who are not part of this network.. how is that any different to what we done?

They were very grateful, I got nothing for my time or effort and that suits me fine! I didn't do it for financial gain, reward, praise etc.. I did it because I wanted to help fellow members of here and friends out to get to Glastonbury. I'll even PM you if I hear of any way of getting a ticket if you like B)

That's all am going to say on the matter, it's been going round in circles for 4 days now.. yeah everyone is pretty much agreed on Seetickets having system faults that allow these multiple bookings..but perhaps spend time trying to convince them to change it.. not on here

Hope you all get tickets for those who still need

I have to say i still would be unhappy becuase alothough me & my other half did get a ticket (We only was looking for 2x tickets) 28 of our regular festival friends would not have got them & we would be now looking at gving up our tickets, which is utterly heart wrenching. especially since i missed last year & spent most of the coverage holding back tears & just being hell to live with.

You'd still be unhappy perhaps but not at anything like the same level, and your thoughts on things would be different to what they currently are - difference circumstances causes different thoughts.

The major part of your unhappiness is caused by the missing out, rather than by the how you missed out. As it is for all people.

If the level of posts on this subject is high, it's because we keep having to repeat ourselves to get the same point across, and counter contradictory nonsense, and are then told that, actually, that that is not the main reason we're grumpy (well no shit Sherlock) and that there are no issues that could be improved. It has taken three days for some people to acknowledge that fact that there was a loophole. It is possible to be grumpy about both things, though yes, one is the major reason.

The system is almost as fair as it could be. It could be a teensy weensy bit fairer. That is all.

are you suggesting I've said that there's no issues that could be improved until today, or that it's taken me 3 days to reach the conclusion that they could be? You're completely wrong - as looking back thru my posts since Sunday will show you. ;)

Or even by seeing the mail I sent to See at about 9:30am on Sunday. ;)
