Rage finished at Reading for good?

Well they're not gonna play for a long time anyway

But that's mainly cos they headlined 2 years ago and doesn't seem too inclined to tour much

Otherwise I can't seem to think of any reason why wouldn't play Reading again, they got a great reception and have played a fair few times before

Although they seemed to be loving playing live at Rage Factor and Download so they may be touring again soon :D

Just don't expect them anytime soon

Headliners rarely repeat themselves within a 5year period, if at all (metallica 1997/2003/2008, foo fighters 2002/2005, blur 1999/2003, RHCP 1994/1999/2007, GnR 2002/2010, Rage 1996/2008, Smashing Pumpkins 1995/2007, Pixies 1990/2005, New Order 1989/1993)

I remember them saying in an interview or somewhere, that they were really close to playing a new song at Rage Factor, but decided against it as they'd only written it that day

Maybe they'll tour when they release the show on DVD though?

if they get a new album out could see them headline. i mean yes its rare, but concidering they've draw a huge new fan base from the rage factor its put then in 'high demand' as such. besdies i'd like to see them do a 2hour set!

however me thinks if they do this new album and go on tour i recon sonisphere might sweep them up. as sonisphere is essentialy a massive european tour so it would tie in nicly, and there the kind of headliner sonisphere needs if it wishes to keep growing and exspand as they appeal to a wider audiance as a appose to a more 'metaly' headliner like metallica

Maybe, maybe not. This year they did a euro tour and did Download, a few arena/staduim show and Rock AM Ring when Sonisphere was after them. They can pretty much pick and choose which dates they want to do which they mat not take kindly to if Sonisphere tell you are playing these dates and they like Reading/Donnington for the heritage.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
