Playing Teenage Dirtbag was a genius move, especially as people have pointed out they would be people who actauly thought it was by them in the first place. Was a fun singalong moment and got the crowd going. MGMT/gaga cover was great too.

That combined with plenty of classic weezer songs made for a craxking festival set. And Rivers of course was on top form.

Loved it when he put the Lady GaGa wig on and dived in the mud at the front of the stage! They never dissapoint but this was the best i'd seen from them. Brilliant!

I had the Wheatus argument as well.

Luckily, a friend stuck up with me to say it was Wheatus... otherwise I woulda looked like a tool.

I got all of my friends to come to Weezer... they only knew one song and came out feeling amazed. I was happy :D

my friend who works as a photographer for nme got to do a meet and greet with the band (lucky git) and they told him why they were gonna play teenage dirtbag, its for the reason thats been guessed here, fans and journalists always ask them if they're gonna play it because they dont realise that weezer and wheatus are too different bands so they decided to play it for ironys sake

When they started playing ...dirtbag I thought it was like if AC/DC had played an airbourne song but they pulled it off amazingly and it was a special moment.

Like others have pointed out weezer was the performance of the weekend for me. Biggest disappointment was that so many people missed arcade fire for the pure s^&t that is pendulum.

    • She was/is 100% in the mix, but I don't know specific timings and how it relates to that interview. They've clearly gone after her, again.   It could be read in a number of ways - she was in negotiations at that point, she was talking about BST (and he's interpreted it, as we have, as Glastonbury). Who knows
    • So sad to see the news that John Douglas of the Trashcan Sinatras has died. They only released their latest album last week and it is wonderful.  So underrated and a member of such a great long running band that have meant so much to me over the last 40 years. https://trashcansinatras.com/blogs/news/john-douglas-1963-2026
    • listening to jamie east's podcast earlier he said that he'd heard fender is confirmed, and that as of 2 weeks ago Madonna hadn't been approached.
    • which would make that Graham Norton interview nonsense .... although obviously things change
    • I dunno - I thought that initially but I'm, reluctantly, edging towards not happening as it stands. Will continue to dig where I can, though.   Re 2028 - I wouldn't be confident. If this is the second time they've tried and it's gone belly up, it could be a case of just write it off.
