Seeing it has been so long now, if it was a hack then I would have thought they would have been able to get it pulled.

Also the GNR twatter page is unsure, that DJ Ashba was with Axl ten hours ago buying weapons you would have thought they would have been able to get hold of him to squash the rumours or retwat via DJ Ashba.

It could all be a PR stunt though or it could be true... Who knows!

Gorillaz FTW!*

* this is by no means the express opinion of the author and as such should be viewed as a slimly veiled attempt at humour, given it would seem Gorillaz will jump in a grave at a moments notice if there is a headline gig going spare.

wouldn't you feel second best is you were Gorillaz though? (not the animal) If they did fill in for GnR then that's 2 major festivals that haven't booked them initially but then needed a fill in and were like "You! Yeah you over there! Play this festival!"

Although there is no official word from the festival organisers about whether there is any truth in the rumour, fans are saying that his account was hacked. Their reasoning is two fold. Firstly the spelling of 'cancelled' there's only one 'l' in the US spelling, and secondly the tweet was posted from 'mobile web' instead of Axl's usual 'Twitter for iPhone'.

We will let you know whether there's any substance to the rumour, as soon as we get further information. The Reading & Leeds festival headliners made their first Stateside concert appearance in four years two days before Axl's twitter (Friday 13th August) at the Rock 'N Rev Festival in Sturgis, South Dakota. Apparently the band kept the crowds waiting for two hours after the previous act

I wouldnt want to be standing around for two hours, that would make it 1 o clock when they finished! Totally Unreliable

with this news of them delaying by two hours, maybe festival republic had an eye on procedings in America and they asked again if they would commit to be on time at Reading and Leeds and maybe just maybe they couldnt commit. But that only rules out our festivals not other shows!
