Souvenir wristbands for the kids.

Took my 8 y/o for his first time, he was gutted he didn't get a band like us, even *made* a ticket for his pouch to show each time we left/returned to the site from camper van fields. Only a souvenir band, my own causes me enough stress in not losing it/ticket stub/pass out let alone his !!

Do something about the water pressure from the taps. Whether you were just trying to wash your hands or fill a bottle, the water would explode all over you (and usually the person next to you)as soon as you pressed the tap on. If it's not possible to ease the water pressure, then maybe instead change the taps to twist on/off ones instead so you can control the force of the water that comes out a bit better.

- Separate gate into the festival for campervan fields.

- More benches (although there were a lot more this year).

- The amazingly friendly staff from the cider bus cloned and installed at all stalls.

- A breathalizer system at the post card stall to stop me sending stupid postcards to people after a few too many :-)

Give out free lanyards with the programmes on the way in. In my drunken stupidness I lost my camera on Weds night and the following morning was given a lanyard by the police which I attached my keys and wallet too (when they wern't in the 24hr lock ups). Would've been handy on the way in!

The JP Tent would be massively improved if they shifted the big screens around a few degrees so the the crowd stuck in the corners could actually see some action from the stage. I don't understand why they have all that covered barrier along the sides of the stage - it makes the view non-existant from the edges.

Also, +1 on the Shangri La one way system. There was loads of room around District 9/The Common, but once you wombled over the track you were penned in, as the chances of getting back into Arcadia were zilch. It would open things up a lot more if people could freely walk back across the bridge. Strummerville probably added to the problems up that end too, though moving that is not really an option.

i'd move that bunch of w*nkers that camp in the exact same spot every year on that hill above the pyramid.

its not even just one tent, its a few tents and a huge marque/gazebo thing and it fits about 30 camping chairs in it.

its time they gave others a chance to get the best view and it annoys me even more by the fact that you could probably fit 5 or 6 average size tents in the space they take up!!

think they call themselves the pyramid palace.

I think the access to and size of Arcadia and Shangri la is a big negative point for me.

Just takes ages to get up. Then you have to go through that one way system to get out.

Think they need to have a re-think about how it works. Maybe move it to a more open area or have other attractions on later at night to disperse the crowd a bit more.

I would imagine they will run this next year and then change these areas for 2013 so I guess this would be a good opportunity to try and improve the logistics. Perhaps merge the areas with Avalon? Or have it on during the day to spread the visitors about?

Also, would I be right in saying these areas didn't open on Thursday? I know last year we went up on the Wed and they were closed, but I guess opening each night (even if the full show isn't on) would disperse the crowd a bit more.

I don't think there is a major problem with the entry system.

Ok, so you can always have more gates and more people at these things but generally the problem this year revolved around the World Cup.

1000's arriving about midday reckoning a 3 hour entry and camp set up was fine then get over the Pyramid before the game, and it was just total carnage getting in. Added to that, 1000's more had been in the car park through the night and were in 1st thing meaning that all of the accessible sites were full and folk had to walk miles.

We arrived about 1pm last year and sauntered in and got a great pitch at Pennards (which was pretty much totally empty when we arrived about 2.30pm). However despite being about 45 minutes earlier this year we had a 4 hours queue / walk and were right up the back corner of the site around South Park West.

I am pretty content that this was all due to Football and I really don't think there is much that needs to be done about the entry system.

change the festival - tuborg is shite

flags - enough said

unenforcable but ban chairs from in front of mixing desk for the headline acts - so many people just left their chairs unfolded when the main bands were on - makes it twice as hard to get through the crowd

edit to say I had an amazing w/e - well done all concerned

I wouldnt change too much but what annoyed me a tad was.

People with three flags on one pole. Mexican flag person, you are a twat.

People having a picnic at the front of faithless. waiting for stevie, and having a go at me for standing on their mat.

I quickly retorted, that they shouldnt be having a f**king picnic when we are all like sardines trying to dance to one of the biggest dance groups in the UK.

That is all.

Oh and more taps. and more cloud.

most of all i would like to see more of?

more of the same!

another/or bigger family field for adults and older children (over 12) and leave the one by the kids field for the families with younger children as it was too packed and a lot of people there without kids which I thought could camp somewhere else.

Having sat on the fence on previous years, I think flags really need banning from in front of the barrier at the pyramid stage, rather than just being mentioned on the website. I was in front of the barrier for all three headliners this year, and even that close there were occasions when I couldn't see the stage and then one of the screens was blocked as well. How you would enforce that, I'm not sure.

The Arcadia/ Shangri La area needs changing and expanding again. I think perhaps swapping it with the Common could help, what with the Common being bigger and less popular anyway, but also because it would hopefully cause people to explore that area first before spending half the night at Arcadia. Or just give the whole area another 10 fields...

All in all though, it was still my favourite Glasto yet. I was kind of expecting to be disappointed after the previous 51 weeks of anticipation, so I'm glad to be proven wrong!

It being our first time at Glastonbury, i was overwhelmed, and my mind was pretty much blown. It is an incredible experience unlike any other.

The bottlenecks, yes, were frustrating. Especially on the Block 9/Shangri La bridge, we waited to get over the bridge for ages and then the whole crowd was turned away, with the stewards saying it was shut. This area needs to be bigger if it's so popular!

I'd probably add screens to the West Holts stage. I spent so much time there, and a lot of the acts on the stage were quite visual, Jerry Dammers, George Clinton etc... It would be great if audiences could see these fantastic groups antics when it's busy.

I wouldn't complain about the sun in the slightest... it was marvellous, and if it had been raining, the forums would be full of people moaning about the rain!

Good times!

Could have done with screens outside some of the tents for some of the acts. Sir Billy of Bragg at Leftfield, Mike Snow at JP and Frank Turner at both Queens Head & Leftfield were pretty rammed. Might make the place a bit too Blade Runner though.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
