TV Recording Tip

For those with Sky, if you amend your favourite channels to just show BBC1, BBC2, BBC3, BBC4, BBCHD and then go to the TV Guide and to Favourite Channels you will browse all those 5 channels on the same screen and it makes it much easier to plan which channels to record.

BTW the 3 hour highlights show is on both BBC2 and BBCHD

I just deleted last year's coverage!

When you haven't got space to record it all - like us - and just want the highlights; are you better off recording the shows on BBC1/2 or BBC 3 or isn't there any difference? Somehow I always seem to manage to record hours and hours of the same band I'm not that interested in! I also like the little films they do of interviews with the crew and that sort of thing - can anyone remember which side I'm likely to catch those on?

Thanks :)

They're not overly different, but BBC3 coverage seems to be made for teenagers in the main I think and I am not so keen on it. the BBC2 coverage seems to cover more in general and so that is what I record and I ignore the BBC3 stuff.

BBC4 programmes are all for one specific artist, so record if you want to see that artists' set (I shall be recording a few).

Full list of TV and radio is at this link, gives some idea of what you might or might not like to record.

After the fest, the excellent BBC Glasto website also have snippets of lots of sets, interviews, etc. when you get home and want to see particular BBC content.

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
