Again, they all do it, although Utd, under Keane were certainly major culprits and re- stretching the more gentlemanly side of the game, see Torres' (think it was him) 'free kick taken' goal the other day.

Luckilly for Everton a similar attempt by Van Der Vaart was disallowed the other night.

I'm saying that in the penalty area they're bad even in comparison to United and Liverpool. You have a point about United's cheating mentality, but at least they do it indiscriminately. Fabregas aside, Arsenal players only go down in the box, which frankly is worse than doing it all the time.

Oh Im all for that though. Presume you mean Vidic?

No, I mean just about the whole team. Utd are masters at it, and very much better than all other teams - as demonstrated by how few cards they get for doing it compared to when it's done by other teams.

Nah Neil, look at the Utd representation in the media, particularly on tv.

that's got f**k all to do with anything. I have eyes of my own.

Fact of the matter is Utd dive no more than any other team, less I'd say, hand on heart.

I've not said they dive more. I have said that I believe that it's an approved team tactic, whereas I don't believe that's the case at other clubs (perhaps some, tho I and everyone else would have difficulty identifying which - which isn't the case with Utd).

But that wasn't my point. My point was that Utd and their fans have no shame about it happening - and the responses here today have made it very clear that I'm correct with that.

I'll look out for that. I have a lodger at the moment who is an Arsenal fan and they haven't been off my damn tele since about November! So I'm sure I'll get the chance to asses the situation.

If you can see it at Utd but not at Arsenal, I have my doubts over whether you do have eyes of your own

the difference I'm seeing - and others too - is that while any individual at any team has the ability to cheat if they wish to, there's only one club where it looks like club policy.

If we take Gerrard's diving as the non-Utd example, then it's something that he does mostly to rescue his team - when they're behind, or to get the winner at the end of the game.

The fact of berba doing it 28 seconds into a game makes it something different, a default way of winning any game no different to shooting towards the goal.

:lol::lol::lol:

Was it you that mentioned Arsenal as worse divers than Utd?

Care to point out their diving right thru Saturday's game, starting in the first minute as a way to win the game from the off? ... Or was it diving as a way to try and rescue the game at the end?

Such things get to show that not all diving is equal.

That's not me saying that diving at the end of the game is acceptable BTW, but it does make it something very different.

He must've been too busy admiring Joe Coles backheel........

Perhaps I was still distracted by this...

I'm impressed tho by Tom Daley getting back from Delhi so quickly to play for England last night.

Oh sorry, my mistake, that was Ashley Young. ;)

... but that was better than you not noticing it at all, the dive or my comment. But of course it's not about a Utd player, so that explains it.:lol:

Now, he is another on the Gerrard, Nani, Drogba, Diouff et al level, a massive cheat, no mistaking.

Im sure if he moved to Liverpool as touted, he'd only be doing it in the best interests of the team, when theyre a goal down though, which is completely different to cheating at any other time of course

To be fair to Drogba, he seems to have had a restraining order put on his sniper the last couple of seasons.

I think Nani has borrowed him in the meantime.

    • Ok, ok, I have done it! Not because of limitless upvoats but to support the Efestivals site.
    • She was/is 100% in the mix, but I don't know specific timings and how it relates to that interview. They've clearly gone after her, again.   It could be read in a number of ways - she was in negotiations at that point, she was talking about BST (and he's interpreted it, as we have, as Glastonbury). Who knows
    • So sad to see the news that John Douglas of the Trashcan Sinatras has died. They only released their latest album last week and it is wonderful.  So underrated and a member of such a great long running band that have meant so much to me over the last 40 years. https://trashcansinatras.com/blogs/news/john-douglas-1963-2026
    • listening to jamie east's podcast earlier he said that he'd heard fender is confirmed, and that as of 2 weeks ago Madonna hadn't been approached.
    • which would make that Graham Norton interview nonsense .... although obviously things change
