Showing up to half the smaller stages still being built (rizla, strongbow, carling etc.)

Crystal castles set, I have seen them 4 times now and the crowd is always like that, they are always like that but this is the first time I have ever seen them being stopped mid set because the stewards weren't controlling the crowd.

the TBA in radio soulwax... that was a major let down :(

probs more to come once I remember :P still a great weekend mind you.

Not being able to go to your car after 12 in the afternoon on the Saturday without getting back in was annoying aswell.

£3 to get your own money out was a piss take, probably would of got more money and spent it on Rockness but cant stand throwing away £3 for no reason what so ever.

Not really anywhere you could go to find out who the TBC's on the £7 programme was also annoying. Hadouken i think it was, were meant to be on an hour or so later than what was advertised which meant one of my mates missed them. He was wasnt happy.

The bars were a joke. Their was loads of folk behind the cash machines, emptying bins, pouring cans into glasses and just generally standing around but hardly anyone serving. Should have had more people to get the ques down.

I was at Rockness in 08 and i remember the toilets being alot better back then but atleast some of them did have toilet paper in them.

Other than that a really good weekend.

I have to say the food on the vegi front was not too bad, but nothing spectacular. The soup place was good, vegi stovies in argyle was nice.

Sound at the main stage I thought was pretty quiet all weekend.

Also at times the noise from arcadia drowned out some of the acts in Howards Bar (not always a bad thing)

Bins - Front row camping barely had any bins at all but there was a "bin point" where you could just dump your rubbish into a pile surrounded by barriers which was fine really. everyone seemed to be actually using these and mostly not just dumping their rubbish altho that doesnt speak for everyone.

its really so easy to keep your camp site clean but some people just cant be bothered and its sad. just use bin bags!!

Toilets - Front row toilets were really top drawer to be honest. Mostly due to under use though due to the camp site being quite sparse. Most other fests you'd expect a lot more useage of the same number of toilets making them a lot more messy / smelly but luckily this wasnt the case. As a man i ususally find general toilet provision fine but i do feel for the girls who have to queue especially in the arena when a big act is on. Must be a night mare but there is not a lot that can be done except put more in, but you can never have enough!!! A lot of the time it is people being selfish and just taking ages, its just the way it is everywhere.

To be honest if front row camping returns next year (and the first names are good) i will make doubly sure to get an early bird ticket to ensure i have a nice spacious clean comfortable camp again!!

Programmes - Well... it wasnt a program was it. This is probably the most ripped off i have EVER felt at a festival. £7 for a laminate is just pure robbery.

Not being allowed into Strongbow with a bottle of unopened coke which I'd just bought! Also strongbow not having black currant to make that manky cider taste slightly better!

The fact everyone was sat on their arse at Kevin Bridges meaning loads of folk were left standing outside for 20mins of his set.

The Strokes... utter disappointment.

To tell you the truth there was not too many complaints from me, but a few of the fellow campers were furious about missing Hadouken, with no explanations or signs outside the tent about time changes. My only complaint really was I felt the bars were in a bit of a disarray. The till and separate serving system was a bit time consuming, causing us to miss the first few songs of the Crystal Castles. At the Electric Picnic there is a queuing system per bar server, which would work far better, what is wrong with the bar person doing the transactions themselves on the till. Even when the bar was quiet, it still took about 15 to 20 minutes to get served. The only other minor complaint to Jim would be the promised chill out area which never materialised, I think such an area is vital to one of the best ravers parties in Scotland, a place you can get a drink or coffee that is playing gentler ambient stuff, apart from that loved the fest and everyone to bits.

I forgot to mention . The sound at Kevin Bridges wasn't really loud enough. We were up the back just in front of the sound booth. Couldn't really make out what he was saying.

When we were in most of the tent was sitting down , with a lot of folk up the side standing. Just as we decided to leave they were getting people to stand up so they could let more people in.

Oh aye , and I got talking to a nice girl called Rachel walking back to the yellow campsite from the arena on Saturday night , then lost her. That was bugging but obviously not Jim King's fault.

2 Many DJs, the set was good the first time I heard it but it's getting boring now and I say that as a huge 2 Many DJs fan, adding a few different tunes here and there doesn't really cut it.

There seemed to be a rather arsey element in the crowd this year, some daft cow said she hoped I broke both my legs because i wouldn't let her in the queue at the bar.

The TBA situation, f**k knows what the plan was.

Most of the other points were smaller points which have already been covered.

Only thing that proper pissed me off over the weekend was me and my mates spanked most of our bevvy on Friday, so we got a taxi to Tesco on Saturday morning but were told we weren't allowed to bring any more bevvy in when we came back because we were already camped. What's the actual f**king point in that?

Took a chance and went anyway then got some lovely folk to carry it in for us in return for us carrying their bags, f**king joke though.

Apart from that everything was tip top. Cracking weekend, roll on next year.

The first comedian that was on before Kevin bridges, he was bloody awful. I could of done better than him, he was getting boo'd off the stage as well. The second one wasn't bad, and kevin bridges was as expected. I was sitting at the start of Kevin Bridges, and even still there was loads of room for more people to get in.. and it's the stewards fault if people didn't get in

Crystal Castles, sound was a bit low and were interupted far too much.

Missed Hadouken! aswell :(

Cramped campsites, and high prices on cash machines, programs and merchandise.

definite arsey element on the Friday eve - my missus was watching Enter Shikari (dont know why ?) and she went to take a photo and some prick behind her grabbed her camera from her hand and chucked it away ! he got a bloody nose from her for it :) (good girl).

The arsey element seemed to go away for saturday & sunday thankfully !

Bar service was a joke ! and £3.30 for a can is taking the piss imho

Lack of bins around the main festival site - just meant people were ditching rubbish everywhere (easy to fix)...

apart from that a cracking festival and looking forward to revisiting next year.

For me the front row camping was a waste of time, closing everything early  £7 for a laminate was a joke and the biggest joke of the weekend was the bar staff  but apart from that I had a ball roll on next year and with any luck Jim will read what's being said and sort it for next year.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
    • Yup and they aren't cheap   Glastonbury is different though, it's a place that will pack out for rarities they don't usually see. Download strictly speaking shouldn't be the strangest place for Avril to pop up of she had been a touring artist of longer times over the years.   Avril and GC would get the same billing for me and GC are selling arenas out quicker than Avril sold Ally Pally. Bearing in mind she'd pnly done soem Brixton dates before.
    • Avril gets above GC on rarity (see Cypress Hill this year). She drew in something like 70,000 at Glastonbury, so much so that they had to close the field off. I’d wager that she would get the biggest crowd of the entire weekend if she was to play DL.
