Wanderlei
Has anyone ever seen the Yeovil Town Band play? I was having a look on youtube and i don't think they've even made it onto there yet!!!I looked on their website and judging by the pictures it seems like they're just your regular brass band. Although i'm willing to be wrong it doesn't look like they're going to be anything special. Which brings me to the question: is this booking for real? They haven't even got Glastonbury listed on the 'forthcoming events' section of their website. Do you reckon this could be a joke booking and, in reality, someone really good will be opening the Pyramid Stage on that day?
ukslim
They open on the Sunday every year. It's a nice tradition that involves the local community in the festival.
wacko
they didn't the 2 years i've been, i'm sure it was an orchestra in 2007 and last year it was easy star all stars. However im 100% sure this isn't a joke.
ukslim
OK, correction. They have often opened the Pyramid on a Sunday in the past.
HAPPY CHEF
Didn't used to be The Glastonbury Town Brass Band and the Bishop of Bath and Wells that used to open Sunday on the Pyramid?
Ommadawn
Definitely not a joke. They have opened before and also often play at the Glastonbury Extravaganza. They are basically just a town band - but are pretty good if you're into that sort of thing. Not sure about the local interest as Yeovil is 25 miles away. MEGABOWL
They opened it in 2000 and I think 2005 (though efests doesn't think so, the official site does). They're real.

budvar
I certaily remember hearing them one Sunday morning, though I do recall them being listed as "Glastonbury Town Band" in the programme once. It's certainly not a joke and I think it's a really lovely part of the festival. Can't imagine a brass band playing the main stage at V or T. Though I could imagine a big name appearing on the bandstand at Glasto!
