The one i tend to use is slightly too small but comfy; a small girlie converse back pack in silver :P

I've often looked on in envy at the thin nylon sacks with rope strings but wondered if they become uncomfortable when full?

Grateful for any insight into what you use, ta :P

I always take a small bag with shoulder strap (that I wear across my body) & I keep money, camera etc in & then I buy the Guardian paper & use the free bag that comes with it for my poncho, wine bag & jumper (ideal for slinging over your shoulder or wearing as a backpack)......sorted!! :P

In 94 I was sat watching jah wobble in front of the sound stage when john peel, who was compering wandered along, sat down right next to us and pulled some sarnies out of a bag just like the one below. I was so impressed at this masterpiece of design I rushed off to purchase one for myself at the earliest oppurtunity, it has done me well for every festival since and holds 6 beers, some basic snackage, fags and wetwipes etc.

It also doubles as a rather excellent pillow, can be used a little belly high table to skin up on and provides lumbar support when sat cross legged.

John Peel was a genius. Even when it came to bags.

I have an Onya Back foldaway rucksack which I think is fab - similar idea to the Decathlon rucksack but the straps are much softer than the webbing used on the Decathlon one, which makes the Onya Back very comfortable to carry even when you're wearing a vest top. Perfect for festivals - in fact they had an Onya Bags stall at Glasto when I was last there in 2008.

Here's a link... (hopefully...)

When they say "useful front pocket" they really mean "fairly useless front pocket" as it doesn't have any kind of fastening - but there is a small pouch (which the bag can fold away into) just inside the main compartment which is handy for keeping small things in.

It wasn't cheap (about a tenner) but has amazed me with how hardwearing it has been, I have had it for at least 3 years and use it pretty much every day for carting stuff around as I don't really do handbags, and it looks slightly grubbier than it did when I bought it (when I get round to it I will put it in the washing machine...) but otherwise no fraying or burst seams and it could almost pass as new, so it has been good value. I think it's made out of parachute fabric. Would really recommend one, and no I don't work for them!

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
