A question for you. If people had never been persecuted for the colour of their skin; if slavery had never happened; if all colours and creed had gotten on just fine throughout human history; would there be such an issue with jokes about peoples skin colour?

For me, this is why racism and ginger jokes could not be more different.

My only caveat is of course, all jokes can be taken too far.

Don't get me wrong, I like a trip up the tradesmen's entrance as much as the next bloke. I just thought that it was funny that a this thread has diversified (as the often do) that all three of the tripartite discussions going on have a high degree of wrongness.

And tasting your own man-batter is just wrong. Never done it, never even thought about until I read this here and it made me a bit queasy. However, strangely, I've stuck my tongue up a woman's dirtchute and that didn't bother me. Guess I'm just weird.

Ginger prejudist isn't recent you know. Just because there is ignorance towards the origins of "gingerism" that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Besides, i'm mixed race and i think other ethnic minorities can relate to any sort of prejudices towards appearence. I can tell you one thing for sure: this thread offends me!

People make up their own criteria of what's right and wrong just so they can justify the marginalisation of certain groups.

Ginger could be seen as a race! When you think about it someones race is all down to appearence. Black people have dark skin, distinctive noses and lips, vulnerability to certain illnesses. Redheads have red hair, fair skin, freckles, vulnerability to certain illnesses.

Saying that racism due to skin colour and hair colour is completely different is ignorant at best.

Well, it "couldn't be more different" according to one of the members of this site. But yes, i grant there is a difference (in the same way as there's a slight difference between being prejudist towards a black and Asian person in that they are of different race).

This thread is hilarious!

Exclusively on Efestivals: Gingerism, marginalisation of ethnic minorities in society, anal, and spunk on toast :P

    • I’d expect U2 & Muse to be options too.
    • I see there's yet another article doing the rounds about Madonna doing BST, and not Glastonbury.   That could be right, but given there'll be plenty of tickets to shift for BST, could it not just be false info doing the rounds to protect that?? Not that I think Madonna would struggle to shift tickets, or that Glastonbury would have that much impact, but still - would probably still make sense to protect ticket sales when it's announced?
    • Given BST recently I wouldn't expect it as rock heavy as that. I kinda am expecting it'd be where The Cure play though as I'm expecting a second year touring of them
    • Id suggest they would need another new album before they play again - Otherwise the show is going to probably be very similar to the one they played at the last festival.
    • Absolutely not, I dont know of it selling out but they needed TFG and Skyvip to shift them. Biffy aren't either and they didn't go to TFG and I wouldn't say Kasabian are either and they sold it out the quickest. Liam Gallagher did Finsbury Park as well and subbed the Pyramid Stage, Noah Kahan did two nights at BST and subbed the Pyramid though that's a rare one. Finsbury itself will definitely not grant you top spot, that field can hold 100k      That's fair. I'm definitely in the camp myself that Fender and Harry are most likely.
