13 years ago Ash replaced a different Stevie W. as pyramid headliner and people apparently departed in droves in boredom at that prospect (no, i wasn't there, just going on what i heard), and now 13 yrs later when Ash have dropped into insignificance since their 97 height and a bit of a blip in '02, you have the choice between them and a far far more legendary Stevie W. and you're going to choose the belfast children?

am i the only one thinks the John Peel headliners this year are way down from last year's Crocker, Doves, Echo & The Bunnymen trio?

My worry is that after faithless I'm going to be a bit bored. I am trying to educate myself in stevie and have found some hits I do know and love. And there is no way i'm leaving til he's done superstition which looks like it will be near the end.

Seriously. A spillover from the dance village and two rubbish acts headlining the Peel for the anniversary? So I guess that whole thing about acts playing smaller stages than usual was foma, because looking through the lineup I don't see any, unless there are some big surprise guests on the Park. But comparing this year's Peel headliners to last year's? It's like Batroc the Leaper versus Galactus.

Discounting the O2 shows which were being filmed this is the most recent setlist from one of his performances I can find - its from a one-off show last Sept in Melbourne.

If anything close to this is played it will be one of the greatest gigs in GF's history. I don't give a fiddlers if theres a medley. Sometimes that can be even more exhilarating than song-gap-song-gap-song-gap. People who turn their noses up at this setlist must have a bit of coal for a heart. It is MINDBLOWING.

his regular set is crammed full of drop dead classics... they might not be top 20 'hits' (for all you pop pickers out there! :P ), and I, for one, will be dissapointed if he does try and change the set to suit an audience who - on the face of it here - don't know what they want...

in fact, some of his hits (I just Called!) are his weakest material
