Fancy dress?

If you haven't seen I Love You Philip Morris, then do. Jim Carrey is excellent in it and as well as being a true story/serious film it contains some great, dark humour.

On to fancy dress. I'm not sure. I suggested months ago that we should all get formal dress on 1 day for a Glasto 40th Birthday party and the thread bombed. Then about a month later someone came up with Posh Friday (basically saying the same thing) and it got loads of support! I may get involved, but on reflection, taking a tuxedo, cummerbund, bow tie, shirt etc etc (including obligatory monocle and silk opera scarf) seems like a lot of extra kit to lug so I might blow it off.

While clearing out the loft earlier this year I found my ex-wife's wedding dress. I'm 6'2", she was 5'2" and heavily pregnant. I plan on spending one day wearing a badly fitting wedding dress and combat boots.

I've never done the dress up thing for a festi before, but figured I'd have a day of it. Last year I met a woman who dressed up in a different costume every day and hadn't brought any other clothes. She made a good pirate :P

I always look at the person who is wearing a huge foam buzz lightyear suit on sunday night and think they look a little sad though. So I may yet relent and return to my usual wardrobe of a variety of interesting T-shirts.

Don't forget prcticality when choose your outfit.

Eg face paint will be a nightmare to get off, its not like at home when you can jump staight into a bath or shower.

Also all in ones are a pain, and anything too big will be a pain to carry as well

No way. I hate fancy dress at festivals. In fact it is one of my pet hates now. Every f**king festival has a fancy dress day. Oh how fracking novel. But sorry I choose not to be involved. What really bugs me is when people tell me I am boring for not joining in or wanting to wear make up and have my nails painted. These vacuous f**kers can only "be themselves" at a festival and need to dress up to be part of something. Back in the real world they would not give a person like me the time of day as I am too different and actually choose to do my own thing.

Anyway here's me trying to get into some poor girls dress I had just met.

I had said to her "I will be getting into your dress by the end of the weekend but I think she was expecting something different :P
