Flags?

'Need' is a strong word, but it's great to be able to stand on the path, and be able to point to your flag and say '*that's* where I need to head'. Especially when you've got the same dark green Eurohike tent as half the other campers.

I've been known to mount a flashing LED badge on top of the flagpole, for returning to the tent at night.

We have a daffodil windsock on our flagpole at our tent, not so much for us to find our way home (though that can help) but so that old friends that we meet up with at Glasto can find us.

But I wouldn't dream of taking a flag on a walkabout. Meets around the site are at pre-arranged times at pre-agreed locations.

I was thinking of getting a flag for my tent, I struggle to find my way anywhere so picking out my green tent in a sea of tents when half or fully cut is just not going to work.

I won't be taking it to any stages :P so what sort of height is practical... I just googled 'em and found a million sizes from 5 to 10 metres - who'd have thought there would be so much choice?!! :P

From the floor of the Pyramid Field on the Friday, just after U2, when the majority who can't see will have finally snapped and revolted against all the selfish attention seeking so and sos, and have attacked all the flagpoles with chainsaws.
