You must be kidding! Jimmy Cliff is an absolute legend and i have something very personal against anyone who dismisses him as pop!

I meant 'pop' with it's true meaning - popular.

Just because something is popular doesn't make it good. e.g: Westlife.

And similarly, just because something is unknown to you doesn't make it crap.

While some of what's on that stage is to my mind hugely over-rated aural torture (including stuff that's got fame by being championed by a certain person despite thinking the band is shit :P), anyone w3ith half a musical brain is able to see it's a far stronger line-up overall than there's been on that stage for quite a few years.

I apologise for my difference in musical tastes. We know that Glastonbury is all about discouraging differences in people and forming prejudist opinions about people based on very little information :P

Stereotyping people is a huge timesaver. I only like popular music and nothing like Prince Buster, Nick Drake, Tom Waits, Patti Smith and Hasil Adkins. FACT. It's a relief to get that off my chest.

New member long time reader.

Absolutely delighted with this lineup , although kinda dissapointed its only one stage.

Mos Def is a stunning announcement, Femi Kuti before him means my firday night entertainment is already sorted. Nothing will top that.

The Sunday promises to be an absolute nightmare Rodrigo y Gabriella and Toots vs Stevie Wonder and possibly faithless.

In an ideal world id like to see Stevie and Toots but its nice to stick around a certain area, especially for the last two acts. Id love to see both the other 2 altough there is no way im missing Mr Wonder.

Also happy with Dr John who will be brilliant.

George Clinton is interesting as well, love a bit of funk but I kinda feel the same way about him and Muse, they are possibilities, id like someone mind blowing on another stage to remove the possibilities.

Pixies headlining the other stage on Saturday please

Absolutely brilliant line up and a huge step up from last years.

Cannot wait to see: Toots and The Maytals and The Bees. But I am listening to some George Clinton too so that I have something to look forward to on the Saturday if the Pixies rumour doesn't come off.

Why not try the musical exploration angle, rather than only seeing the same bands you've seen before and will get the chance to see loads of times again?

Of course everything is subjective, and it's all about what you like at the end of the day.

But if you're opening gambit is "I know loads about music, and I've never heard of all these legends, they musn't be as good as Jamie Cullum" then unfortunately you'll get short shrift

if that rumour does come off then I can tell you now it's more exciting listening to their records. They're the band that the words 'only ever average' were invented for.

So go for George instead. You won't regret it. You *WILL* regret the Pixies.

    • My Orange car park ticket turned up today. The envelope looked like some kind of junk mail offering me a loan so I nearly didn't open it!
    • There is a bunch of TBC acts on Deftones day, according to APE insta. The obvious guesses are Fiddlehead, Nothing, Dynamite and Make Way, "Outbreak" artists playing the night before. The question is more about how are they are gonna fit in on three big stages.    is
    • SURELY Reel Big Fish will be here?
    • Sam Fender, Harry Styles, Sabrina Carpenter is a very bland set of headliners. Commercially successful and makes plenty of sense, but it wouldn't be very inspirising. That said I want a band like Green Day to headline so who am I to say what exciting is.
    • Potentially rogue shout here but could see Rebecca Black in the running for a mid-afternoon spot. I know most people still remember her for Friday but lately she’s been putting out a lot of fun pop bangers, think this could be a very fun booking!
