I will be either drinking festival strength cider to celebrate, or drinking festival strength cider to drown my sorrows!

Some handy tips from seasoned Glasto ticket buyers would be really useful!

So far i'll have 2 laptops+phone to hand here, and a couple of trusted friends have my registration number and bank details so they can try for me

Computers will both be completely cleared on Saturday night - disk scan and defragged so they are running as fast as possible, and the seetickets number is already stored in my phone

One thing I don't quite understand from doing a search is this issue of hitting the back button when pages time out - is that OK to do? Will the info still be submitted on the form i've just gone back to, or do I have to keep reentering info?

... and one last thing... seetickets don't really run a queuing system right? They just refresh every 20 sec if the site is busy so i'm better off hammering F5 instead

This next week is going to be torture!

Please everyone jump in with any tips you can share!

The most important one is 'remember to breathe'

Good Luck to everyone else counting their days away!

Im so scared about it like actually frightened. Its even worse as I could be relaxing and not having to worry about this ticket situation as I managed to get two for me and my girlfriend who are going find and dandy when they first went on sale. Due a series of unfortunate events though I though I had to then cancel these but then quickly realised they didnt actually need to be cancelled. SeeTickets couldnt uncancel tickets though damnit!

I think I may actually cry for the first time in a while if I dont get any tickets.

Glasto 09 was my first one and was the best week of my life ever! I dont think I could bare to go to Reading with all the little 14 year olds.

Sorry if this isn't clear, I'm crap with computers, but I always remember someone on here saying that when you're bashing F5, make sure you're refreshing the correct page. People in the past (me included) have sat refreshing the "Page busy" page instead of the link to the ticket booking page.

I'm not suggesting that you or anyway else is as thick as me with computers, but I do remember a few people not knowing this before.

Other than that, good luck! Keep this site open as it has helped me get tickets plenty of times in the past.

I registered way back... then saw the annual leave rota for June and knew I would have no chance of getting time off so I didn't even try for tickets - Now i've gained promotion at work, have a totally different type of job which isn't ward based, and seeing as how there is only me doing my job, it means I can have time off when I like! The REALLY annoying thing is I got the promotion 2 days after the last mini resale! Aghhhhhh

Yeah we managed to get dates muddled up and didnt think we would be able to go. If I dont get tickets and end up not going knowing that we had them secured I would be so gutted.

Urgh no I couldnt stand Reading and Leeds its not the rowdiness its the fact the whole festival more or less is made up 14-16 year olds who's convesations are about nothing more than 'how wasted they are', little kids thinking there rock & roll after a few drinks and cigarette is something I cant stand. Glastonbury is just so laid back and awsome I absolutly loved it, the beauty of the place at night aswell with the lanterns and lights all around the boundaries of the site.

It was my own little Arcadia.

The line-up for Reading even annoys me it just seems to be loads of American middle of the road whiney/rock/metal/emo-y bands. I would consider getting a Saturday ticket purely to see The Libertines but Im sure they will be playing Glastonbury to be honest looking Peter and Carls touring schedule.

I think I get what you mean... sort of!

When I get the 'this page is busy and will refresh every 20 seconds, then I want to hit the back button and refresh the opening page right?!

Stressing a week in advance isn't good! I wish I had booked annual leave this coming week and then just spent all week... urm.... 'mellowed out' :P

At 37, I would feel WAY too old to be around sozzled teenagers! I have a 15 year old who I guess will be wanting to start going soon!! :P

I know a couple of years ago, whoever runs the medical side of things for Leeds got in touch with us to see if a few of us would volunteer to work the festivals... must have been a year particularly bad for burns there. I could probably dig out his details and see if he's still interested. Might be good to go and work it and be camped with the medics etc. I really just wanna see Arcade Fire again!

I tried the medical workin' thing too....then realised I'd much rather be in need of help than staying straight enough to give it!

Try having lots of windows open at one time. Make sure you can see enough of the page to see whether it gets through, then click on your internet program to open another window and position it next to the first open one and so on. Should be able to get at least 16 open at the same time. Then go round hitting refresh on each one.

Tickets went on sale about 8 53 last time so try like 10 minutes before there actually meant to go on sale

Heres two tips:

For my glasto tickets I got them in one of those random sales, however i was at the time in train station on my phone, I turned the wifi on and connected into the cloud wifi network, got thru to the last page and it just didn't go, eventually I gave up and made my way sadly to undeground where I left wifi network and switched to 3G, it magically went through! So anyway, my advice here is if you got a phone capable of looking at webpages and html forms, then have that as an option :P.

For my rage tickets, which was a scramble I didn't get them nearly as quick as I usually did, I used a little add-on to firefox called check for changes, now this refreshes the page at a set interval you can set in seconds and checks for any changes on the page, So if it puts in the que, highlight the waiting text and get it to change..I also F5'd but i had major success getting through on that!

Good luck!

I just want to add good luck to all those hoping to get tickets.

Also, and this important, DO NOT HIT F5 ON THE BUSY PAGE!!! All you will be doing is refreshing the busy page.

Come on here early in the morning and try the page before 9.00am, they have opened this early in the past.

Fingers crossed for you all!!!!

    • Rotten communication. Actually god awful. Posting sporadically on IG, closing Mordor only to reopen and cause some serious carnage. Left the festival as it got too much for my 16year old daughter. She was devastated about Alex G and Mac…but TV girl could have saved it. Took us until 1220 and already home to find out they might/are playing. Pish.    and on another note, this festival has lost its bastard soul. Gone are the wee tents with local sellers selling vinyl, t shirts etc, now you can buy a 50 f**king eur official T-shirt. The ar*e is truely out of this event now. I went to Porto for the first time last year and it was fab. I love Barcelona and the line up is always stacked, but this festival is a corporate loss take. Hopefully a better day tomorrow.
    • f**king horrendous and seems they couldn’t run an egg and spoon race.  zero info and the crush waiting to get in to see Massive Attack was potentially disasterous. Zero info, no stewards at all and was told that the whole evening was cancelled, when we got to the exit. Because it rained. First time attendee and i’ve got onsay, i’m far from impressed. Scalping bastard taxis asking €37 plus for an €11 fare too. Wonderdul.
    • Rumours are it's called The Lost Tour. In the US in September. Ireland in November (so UK+Europe a good bet around November/early December).
    • Hey guys, is there a group going for any solo y not goers this year?? I couldn’t miss out once I saw the acts but it’s just me and would be great to meet some others:))
    • After deciding to abandon the festival, here's a few of my thoughts (mostly negative tbf).    On the positive side - was it just me or were there a few more urinals than last year? Seemed to help the queues at the loos a bit from what i saw. Plus they had at least had some foresight and had a few more covered areas in the VIP areas.    Now on the negatives.  The weather was admittedly pretty crap but it wasn't apocalyptic. How the actual f**k are bits of the main stage falling off in those conditions?  Then the communication was awful, there's a load of people who left the site because they were told by security guards/other personnel that there would be no more acts on the main stage this evening.  You have an app Primavera, use it! Yes, there's a shitload going on I'm sure but communication with the festivalgoers should be one of the top priorities. You failed.    And I'm not usually somebody who buys into the whole "oh this is hugely unsafe and it's lucky people weren't hurt" narrative, but all the above led to movements of people that were genuinely unsafe.  Evacuating Mordor entirely (again... Why???) and then having a horde of people trying to get in because they thought they were going to Massive Attack was insane.  And given a lot of people basically abandoned ship around 10.30pm the crush at both the exit to the festival and the entrance to the Metro was pretty dangerous.   Conditions happen, most people will get that....but the contingencies have to be better.
