Michael Eavis has again offered to present the trophy at this years 2nd efestivals Glastonbury World Cup which is taking place on Thursday 24th June from 1pm in front of the Pyramid stage.

Last year largely through efestivals forum users £3000 was raised. This year Michael Eavis has challenged you all to try and beat that amount!

So if you can, please make a donation at http://www.justgiving.com/glastoworldcup2010

Any donations, large or small are welcome and I will post a thank you on this thread to everyone who donates.

C'mon peeps .... if everyone of you that reads this forum donated just £1, thousands of people who would access to clean water for the very first time - something that we're all lucky enough to take for granted.

£1 is less than half a pint of beer. I doubt there's anyone reading this who can't afford that.

Please make your donation at http://www.justgiving.com/glastoworldcup2010

</guilt trip> :P

(PS: efestivals will be making a significant contribution ... but due to our cashflow being very seasonal, we're not the in position to do it just yet).

you going for 6 grand this year then?

That's the challenge that Michael has set us.

I think it's very do-able if people reading this are prepared to give just a pound if that's all they can afford - and let's face it, there's very few people who wouldn't miss just a pound.

If everyone playing gets people to sponsor them then it's entirely doable. We managed to raise over £250k for my little cousin's cancer appeal and that was done almost entirely over the net. Sure, this isn't as hard-hitting an issue but it should be and if we can do that in three months, £6k is possible in far less time (we have just under three months anyway). So post it on your facebook, send emails out etc. I am gonna say aim for ten!

If an internet campaign can knock X Factor off the Christmas number one, surely it can do something a bit more significant...

Ten grand is a good starting point but I reckon we can easily get more!

    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂

    • This Isaac wood news has dropped right out of left field. Great to hear he feels up to doing live stuff again    what will he play? Solo stuff , old BCNR stuff?    It’s only in November , it’s a bold booking to for someone who has previously had some struggles to come back and play a load of new stuff to crowds that big
    • Wow, Blink-182 back so soon. They’re the band they’ve never booked then. Great booking if they’ve got them.    Deftones, Papa Roach, Knocked Loose   Lamb of God   Blink-182, Avril Lavigne, Good Charlotte   Megadeth   Slipknot, Gojira, Motionless In White   All Time Low
