I got all carried away and bought a ticket after stumbling upon the website. They had a list of bands that I assumed was the line up.....but didn't read it properly. "Have played Loopallu". So now I have a Loopallu ticket and chances of Frightened Rabbit turning up are slim!

The Loopallu festival returns for its sixth outing this September, and we’re very pleased to start unveiling the line up.

Loopallu has consistently managed to deliver acts and line ups well beyond its tiny 2500 capacity and this year will be no exception, indeed we think it’s by far and away the strongest line up yet.

With headliners still to be announced, we’re pleased in the meantime to unveil a long overdue visit from Scottish indie heroes, Idlewild.

Joining them and making their first ever festival appearance in the Highlands is Turin Brakes who are back on top form following the release of their 2010 critically acclaimed album ‘Outbursts’.

Also confirmed are BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards ‘Best Live Act’ (2010) nominee The Bad Shepherds featuring comedian Adrian Edmondson, best known for playing Vyvyan in The Young Ones and also Eddie in Bottom.

Local favourites and guaranteed to get the party started, The Vatersay Boys make a welcome and much requested return.

Finally, bringing a touch of electronic/pop/folk are Silver Columns the new project of Johnny Lynch, better know as Pictish Trail and keyboard player in the Fence Collective.

Ticket prices have been held at last years prices, with Weekend tickets at £55 and Weekend and Camping at £70. Weekend & Camping ticket holders wishing to bring campervans and caravans which will be charged £25 per vehicle. As, since the beginning, tickets for children 12 & under will be free (though need to be accompanied by an adult).

See you all in September!!!

We’re really chuffed to announce our second batch of acts.

First up we can confirm one of the most eagerly anticipated new acts in the UK (having only played 2 London shows to date), Mt Desolation will be joining us on the Saturday in Big Top. Not only is this Alt-County group fronted by Tim Rice-Oxley and Jesse Quin (who are better known in their roles with Keane), their debut album due for release later this year also features performances from members of The Killers, Mumford & Sons, Noah And The Whale, The Long Winters and Pete Roe.

Also added to the bill are the wonderful Aberfeldy who are set to release their third album ‘Somewhere to Jump From’ on August 23rd and rising traditional music stars Skerryvore

Yeah that's what I thought to but then I noticed:

    • Nearly half owed to UK pension funds and banks, a third to foreign investors and the rest to the Bank of England.  We can say we won't pay the interest or the loans back but who would lend us 100 billion again next year? The Bank of England are selling their portion  at the moment which I read is making things worse so we should tell them to stop but I don't really understand why that is.
    • Gotta be worth a bump for old times sake
    • Let's hope you're right - having secret set by Olivia Rodrigo would be huge. It might even overshadow the Thursday trainwreck.   We'll see in a couple of hours.
    • Yet again we’re missing the WH Sunday reggae slot
    • Occident has got larger over the years and there's relatively little overlap with mbv and OR fans that I think it would work fine as it would divide the crowd so effectively.   They don't even need to give the biggest stage from an optics perspective either, this would be billed as a secret short set and used to promote her new album.
