Blur last year? I was watching footage of them in 1994 (I think) at the supposed height of their powers and then comparing it with 09 at the weekend. Much better reformed.

However, I concur on Ian Brown the solo artist - much better than the Roses (and I do love the Roses), much better live and sadly (because of the reverence with which everyone treats The Roses) almost totally over-looked by a lot of people who are determined to live their lives in the past. "My Way" was pretty much my favourite album of last year. Amazing tunes.
