Whooooo hoooo :P:P:( That's just totally bl**dy brilliant in absolutely all respects :P How amazing would it be if there was any remote possibility of it ever happening for real. Even a half-decent looky-likey act would be more than a bit good given that the great man is sadly long gone and all that. Mucho thanx for posting the linky. Gotta love what could almost have turned into a "get orf my land" moment at the end as well :P Really need to watch that again I think ...

Why bother to make this.....he never played so lets leave it at that, would have been awsome if he had but the same could be said of many

John Lennon

Elvis

Rory Gallagher

Stevie Ray Vaughn

Lynrd Skynrd.....original

Janis Joplin

Michael Jackson...bit of a let off there

The list is endless

You have a point and all that ... and defo need to add Pink Floyd to that rather short list as well I reckon, quite possibly very near the top I might suggest :P However, assuming that you like Hendrix in any way shape or form, can you honestly say that it wasn't a bit of a goosebumps moment for you when watching what might have been :P Defo was for me anyways :P Apart from that it's a rather nice bit of work in the vid editing dept as well. A pointless exercise may be and no amount of wishful thinking is ever going to make it reality but I likey a lot ... even if it is 100% fake and all that !

Well I loved it.

Why make it?

Because if Hendrix hadn't set his guitar on fire at Monterey, There would very likely never have been a Glastonbury.

Because its a brilliant "what if"

Because Julien Temple is a superb director

Because...

"If You Have to Ask, You Ain't Got It" - Fats Waller

Mind you, I wouldn't get in the back of Eavis' pick up. The man's a nutter behind the wheel

Well said Mike. I reckon anyone that loves Glastonbury would watch the hours of footage from Woodstock and think 'I wish I'd been there', and this transposes a major star from that era and lets us imagine what it must have been like to see someone we've lost. This little bit of fun (OK, corporate though it may be) is a wonderful way of illustrating what all Glastonbury lovers think about - the moments of magic that we cherish and recall on cold winter's days. I think it's ace. :P

    • RIP Roy Hattersley
    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
