This being the 40th anniversary, I wouldn't be surprised if some of the bigger bands who openly love the festival and have associations with it pop up on some of the secret sets or in "lesser" slots on the line up. I was convinced that Radiohead or Thom Yorke would pop up somewhere as well as Coldplay and part of me still is.

I think Coldplay are amazing. They might not be a good band to see if you are gurning your tits off but they are good at what they do-depressing (though uplifting) and introspective songs

Funny thing is if Coldplay headlined, I doubt I'd see them if they were lower down or opening the festival I would. Same applies to Stevie for me *runs away*

I'm not here to moan, I'm just getting an easy rise out of you; I just know how passionate you Coldplay fans are.

I'm not really hoping for any one act to play this year, it's been a very long time since I thought the line-up wasn't anything other than somewhere between very good and awesome. (maybe 1997, but looking back, it might have been because 1995 was so good, followed by a fallow year)

I'm not a crazy, psychotic Coldplay obsessive. I merely like them. I AM a crazy, psychotic obsessive about I Am Kloot, The Bees, Seth Lakeman, Doves, Elbow (and quite a few more) - so slag those off and I'll find someone with big feet to put on some running shoes and jump on your balls.

But fair play - I think the line up is so varied and so large, it's impossible to find it a disappointment IMHO, unless you're set on your favourite act playing the headline slot. Not that fussed where they play just as long as at least some of the acts I love are on the bill.

Variation is definitely the thing. I have been influenced by bands that I have seen Glastonbury (and other festivals) for the first time, so it kinda works both ways.

I don't see what all this fuss is about coldplay, I mean they're better than that god-awful band a few people on here have mentioned once or twice...Radiohead is it?

If these big bands opening the each day is true, will they be given the same amount of time as a headliner?
