Acts NOT playing Glastonbury 2010?

There's a lot of blind speculation going on in this thread to be honest. Just because bands/artists aren't touring doesn't mean they won't play the odd festival (including Glasto). Just because bands/artists aren't playing festivals doesn't mean they won't play Glasto's 40th...(for example, DCFC will supposedly be playing later in the year, just nothing released yet, Arcade Fire have no tour dates planned, but many seem to think they'll play (I'd be surprised), and SFA turn up lots of times so I'd hope to see them at the 40th!)...

I think what Bort was suggesting here was for us to list bands DEFINITELY not playing (ie, the band themselves have ruled it out, their tour pages show they are playing somewhere else, or one of the eavii has ruled them out).

So, easiest way to keep track of things is to post a link to the source of the info when naming the band/artist...

eg Bowie http://www.nme.com/news/david-bowie/48616

Though WTF does the NME know! :P

To be fair, spelling 'Thom' that way actually makes more sense than spelling it 'Tom', probably 9 times out of ten their full name is 'Thomas', so I never get why in shortening it they remove the h..my name is David, I tend to shorten it, but I'm not about to shorten it to Dve...when you think about it Thom makes more sense than Tom (unless the person is called Tomas..)

Great idea, I was having a scan round the web yesterday and I think we can rule out the following as not touring: -

DE LA SOUL

N.E.R.D.

SONIC YOUTH

ELBOW

MY BLOODY VALENTINE

BEYONCE

PORTISHEAD

SNOW PATROL

DUFFY

RAZORLIGHT

Q-TIP

BOB DYLAN

SUPER FURRY ANIMALS

LITTLE BOOTS

MIA

THE WOMBATS

THE CORAL

DEATH CAB FOR CUTIE

THE PRETENDERS

TV ON THE RADIO

Fact The Strokes. Have said they're doing Rockness and Isle Of White and that's it. Sounds like we'll probably get Julian Casablancas solo though.

Wild speculation: Based on having had a Doherty solo or Babyshambles set for what seems like the last five years I'd say that was pretty unlikely and all. Playing multiple times in one year doesn't usually rule acts out from doing two consecutive years though so I'd be less likely to rule out White Lies on that basis.

I think we might see De La Soul and Q-Tip. Q-Tip said he wants to come back this year (whether he gets asked to or not is a different matter I suppose) and De La Soul were on the Q lineup last year weren't they? Maybe there was a mix up and they couldn't play but they could now?

I can hope so anyway.

    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
