Muse Headlining Saturday

Muse to headline the main night of Glasto's 40th anniversary - revealed today.

Probably can't argue with Stevie for the sunday, but for the saturday's headliner to be a band like Muse, although I know people love them and their huge in England, also great live ... does anyone just feel a little cheated by this?

Not really. I can't see why anyone would have a problem with them as a 3rd headliner given their history with the festival and their standing.

Just so happens that this year the traditional format of having the biggest headliner on the Saturday has been inverted, can't see why that's a problem when you consider the size of the Friday and Sunday headliners.

Surely there isn't a 'main' night though, is there?

There are 3 'main' days and they have to fit around the schedules of the acts as to who plays and when?

Equal billing as far as I'm concerned.

They'd better play citizen erased (plus look at the sparse flags!).

Sinner Boy: so if it was Stones Friday, Led Zep Sunday would you still be disappointed? In that scenario I wouldn't have cared if Jedward had headlined the Saturday.

Isn't this just a result of being underwhelmed by all three headliners rather than Muse specifically?

Personally i cant wait to see Muse! I have watched a few videos of them and i think they'll do a brilliant job.

A great booking if you ask me, even though everyone may not think so, thats why there are so many different stages lol. I wont be at the Pyramid for Stevie Wonder as he isnt really my cup of tea, im not going to start threads about being cheated lol

Dang, so Michael Eavis has bottled out of booking the greatest live band in the world to headline then.

Boo Michael, BOOO!

    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
    • No argument that he’s bigger than ever, I just have no enthusiasm for it.
    • Keep in mind those crowds were full of teenagers. Glasto aint full of teenagers. Theres no way she could demand headline and get it because they got other acts to give the slot to who deserve it with a bigger catalog. Reading/Leeds would headline her cause its still LN.  If the fest was struggling its Other headline. But a 3rd down Pyramid is likely the landing spot. Itll go down like the Camila Cabello performance pretty much.
