I promise you that he is... I have been 'youtubing' his tunes ever since i found out and now can't wait..! He will be perfect for Glasto... perfect... I am sure he will headline, but really want him to be the 'shirley bassey/ tom jones' slot, in the sun on sunday afternoon... imagine 'You are the sunshine of my life'... with your loved ones around you and the sunday fuzzies all thru you...!! I tell you, I will be crying with joy...!!!!

neil diamond was on before goldfrapp on sunday i'm sure. probably about 2 or 3 pm. bad memories for me. lying in my tent ready to spew my guts out.

the only way stevie could play afternoon, is if they extended the slot by an hour. i actually think he would be better in the afternoon and what's to stop them extending that slot and maybe having one less act or giving a newer act on earlier a shorter slot.

I totally get what you're saying, and my experience of people who work for record companies (in general) is that they don't know their arse from their elbow,

buuuut,

there's a difference in a record company person not knowing that an artist is doing something, and a record company person saying that someone is definitely doing something

no?

In my experience, nope.

People working in record companies normally know zilch about these sorts of things, because (as a general rule, there are exceptions sometimes) record companies play no part in an act's touring plans.

yeah i know but it was a wrong guess. as this could be too. just annoys me when folk take anything you say for gospel and have a go at folk that don't.

i hope you are right though. as i am ticketless and would hate to miss it. selfish prick i know :P

But my opinion on Stevie Wonder is not driven by any guessing, it's driven by info with substance (and info driven by the substance of no substance, if you get what I mean).

I'm not suggesting that people take my word as gospel for this, but Emily Eavis' word.

To my knowledge (and including things told to my face that have never been published), Emily has never told lies about acts they have or don't have before. I don't see why she'd have suddenly changed things for this year, particularly with an act that has no other gigs to be undermined by what she might say.

Why would someone believe a random over Emily? Particularly a random who has claimed to know that Prince was playing in previous years? :P

OOOOOOOooooooo Neil.. you little tinker..!!!!

I don't believe I said I knew Pronce was playing a couple of years back, I just instigated a vicious rumour/ desperate wish..!!!

SW was given to me as a 100%er.. and i have no reason to doubt it... so, onwards and upwards....

What are we all dreaming he will play...?? :P

I tip my hat to you - it appears that you were spot on.

My apologies for doubting you.

I think that there's very few festivals in the world that could pull ONE of U2 or Stevie Wonder, never mind both. Considering that the bill also contains Gil Scott Heron, Andy Williams and no doubt many other internationally recognised icons and you're looking at why this year's going to be f**king immense :P

add this to the interview with Emily, does this mean there is still another act in the pipeline to headline? :P

Why should it? There's nothing about Stevie that conflicts with what she said to the BBC. I suspect that's who she was talking about.

It appears from what Eavis has said that he's not signed and sealed as yet, but is close to being signed and sealed.

    • Had a wonderful booking in one of our primary woodland venues this weekend. A 30th birthday arranged by a load of musicians and entertainment industry professionals. It was primarily a folk oriented event, however I noticed one young woman who didn’t seem to fit dress and appearance wise. Turned out to be Frenetic, one of the top up and coming UK Jungle and DnB DJ’s.    Anyway Saturday night turned into an EDM session and I got to do a set. Slightly nervous considering who was there, it was great and Frenetic loved my set. She’s closing Data Mine at Shambala this year.
    • they got lucky and the thunderstorms stayed away. It was still wet of course. Some of those boot sucking puddles did emerge from what a couple friends saw who were there.  Post fest aerial also below   and also a sapphic mud wrestling contest?
    • It's even less funny when in real life too...   Liddle met Rachel Royce and the couple soon became romantically involved.[84] In January 2004 the couple married at a ceremony in Malaysia. They had been living in Heytesbury, Wiltshire, and had two sons together. Six months later, Liddle moved in with Alicia Monckton, a 22-year-old receptionist at The Spectator. It transpired that he had cut short his honeymoon with Royce so that he could be with Monckton. Following their divorce, Liddle and Royce exchanged attacks in the media. Liddle called her a "total slut and slattern"
    • Got our purple outfits sorted.   What's the uptake on the fancy dress day?   Does everyone get involved with that one as well?
