Alternative airports

I know Bristol is the closest to the festival site but last year mates and I took a tedious route of the boat from Dublin to Holyhead, train to Derby then met friends who had a car and drove onwards.

We flew back from East Midlands on Monday - equally as frustrating.

Just to compare flights is there any other relatively close airports worth looking into?

Newquay airport is reasonably close.

Bournemouth Airport maybe? 60 mile trip

Exeter airport is at the end of the M5, about 2 hours from site at a guess

EDIT

Looking at the map, this might be your best option as there is less cross-country travelling to do, compared to Bournemouth and definitely closer than Newquay

Newquay airport is reasonably close.

you're having a laugh!!! Heathrow is probably nearer! Bristol is much nearer to London than it is Newquay.

Exeter would be the next nearest.

I'd look at landing in Heathrow and getting the train to Castle Cary as an alternative. There's a fast train from London to CC and booked in advance might be cheapish too.

Even Birmingham would only be a couple of hours max. Gloucester Airport isn't rate far away either.
