One of the pleasures of the summer !

:P

But it can be a love hate thing

Love to see it in all its glory , but then you ge the awful feeling in the pit of your stomach when

you realise Faithless and Interpol and The Cribs are all gonna clash.

Then you hope Halvin has got it wrong , but you realise he prob hasn't so depression sets in !

:P

as always im telling myself that this year there will be less rushing around to see things... but that's not going to stop me printing off a clashfinder and using my colour coded highlighting system (must sees/ would like to sees/ maybe see if in the area/ acts with amusing or interesting names) :P

Halvin is a hero!

did anyone get the 'I'm Halvin' t-shirt thing going last year? probaly hijacked by MJ checking out but i thought it would be a good idea nonetheless

the clashfinder is now established as a legendary part of the festival experience and there arn't many of us ordinary folk who you could [genuinely] say have created something like that

cant wait for revE already

It's another excitement marker/milestone along the road to Glastonbury, I sometimes find myself yelling at my printer to hurry the f**k up and print so I can let loose with my highlighter pens. Fantastic bit of kit, every Hippy should have one :-)

Says on his site: "A massive, massive thank you to all the people who donated to the clashfinder fund. It's appreciated more than you'd believe. I'm sure you're all dying to know what the final present was -- Mrs H has got/will get a bottle of champagne, a bunch of flowers, a pair of shoes and a hair cut. After all that lot there ought to be enough for a new dress too. Aren't you just a lovely bunch of people."

We have a little ritual on the Wednesday.

Race from the car to the campsite, fight, erect tents, fight, sit down on picnic rug with large (plastic) glass of something strong and nasty, then I hand out the Halvins, hand out the high-lighters and then we fight some more :P

Happy, happy days

Pick up a penguin? No, hand out a Halvin

    • I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana
    • Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.
    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
