They are playing Cardiff City's new ground at the start of June , looks like there will be promotion at the festivals of their new album so strong possibility; Word gets round and performance and cocktails were classic albums, seen them a few times always a good atmosphere (Welsh gigs though)I would be Happy if they were there in the 'kasabian' slot

That poor that they sell out arena tours year in year out. Very good band with good back catalogue of songs. Would much rather see them than some pretentious band trying to be all quirky and different

Yes but the stereophonics singers only a wee little fella. I think they would take him down first and watch the others panic I think.

By take him down I mean pick him up and put him in a wheelie bin.

Stereophonics a total meat and two veg band. Not bad live, have a decent back catalogue and you know exactly what you'll get from their set. Not the type of band I would imagine anyone would think.

'Wonder what they're like, maybe go and have a look'

As said a million times, there's a helluva lot more on at Glasto if you don't want to see a particular band and can't see a problem if they play this year

Although the Stereophonics aren't anywhere near as good as they used to be - and I'd stay away if they just plugged their new stuff and didn't play Traffic, Goldfish Bowl, Tramps Vest etc - Kasabian still don't come close.

And no, I'm not a massive Stereophonics fan. I just think Kasabian are shite and I truly cannot see why they're so popular.

Anyway - if the Stereophonics play, I'll be in the 'might pop along if there's nothing else on, but stick to Word Gets Around' category.

Im not a Kasabian fan either, Id just like to see them fight the stereophonics. Are you sure youre not a massive 'phonics fan?

Anyway I still reckon theyd have them with their stupid haircuts, whilst wearing their pansy velvet clothes etc. In fact that would make it even better.

Hmm yes thats pretty good, even better Id quite like to see daphne and celeste put Kelly Phonic in a wheelie bin, and lock him in there.

Of course Id leave a rod stewart doll and a pair of sunglasses in the bin, I reckon hed be fine.

This site cracks me up how people get the absolute a@se if somebody else says something bad about a band/singer they like. I happen to like the phonics and am off to see them at the o2 this year but really don't lose any sleep if someone (or lots of peeps!) doesn't like them. Each to their own eh :P

Seems like we're in the minority here - But I'd be well up for a greatest hits set from the Stereophonics! I saw them at the Millennium stadium in 2001/2 and they didn't disappoint.

I'd be more excited by this than U2 *awaits barrage of abuse and musical snobbery*:P

I like Stereophonics a lot and have seen them several times but I'm not sure I want them playing second top on the Pyramid on Saturday night. The quality of their albums has basically been a straight line downwards with a small blip for LSVO. Their new one is nothing special so too much of that would be a fairly boring concert.

If they pulled out all the hits from the first two and dropped in Dakota, Mr Writer, Devil etc then it could be excellent but earlier in the day please.

I've seen it performed by The Stereophonics, Rod Stewart and many others but the original Chris Farlowe version still beats them all. And this is him still touring at 70!

    • Used had one of the biggest crowds in the Wave last year. Not really my thing but enjoyed it and the crowd were bang up for it. Might be too much of a step up on the Main though.
    • Thing is it depends on what the issues are - building a bigger stage would likely bring the Pyramid up to the relatively standard 20x20 space for "on stage" production which does make it easier for touring setups. But if for example she wants big / complex extensions going out in the field (such as she had in Rio) that would remain just as awkward to achieve without massively disrupting the rest of the day or potentially even weekend.
    • A month or so before any ballot a group of up to six is registered and a lead booker named.  That gives see tickets time to check if any individual’s registration, post code  and details appears more than once on different groups and removed then on ticket allocation day tickets the groups are just randomly balloted.  It’s felt like a ballot in the last few years, just sitting staring at the dreaded two lines, glancing nervously at the clock as time passes. Maybe the f5 refresh gave you the sense that you were actually doing something 😊
    • or can we just have Metallica back please 😄
    • Feel Stevie Wonder should be in the conversation as a random Michael Eavis headliner ala Neil Young last year.... If we did get a M.E pick for one of the headliner slots, who else would be in the mix do we think? Cher? Rolling Stones? Nicks/Fleetwood?
