NME [tomorrows issue] says that Soundgarden are playing Sonisphere

Image

Says the following, although not clear exactly, in order focusing on the bits in bold

Something about The Rolling Stones and Glastonbury

Download - Them Crooked Vultures, AC/DC, Van Halen

V Festival - Kasabian, Kings of Leon

TITP/Oxegen - Muse, Green Day

Reading & Leeds [i believe it says Blink], My Chemical Romance

Soundgarden at Sonisphere

Eminem at Wireless

Then I don't know what the rest of the artical is about but it mentions MGMT and Rage Against the Machine

Soundgarden joining Rammstein and Iron Maiden at Sonisphere would definitely push me into buying a ticket.

I went last year but I'm still waiting for a few more bands to my liking to be announced as Placebo Bring me the Horizon, Papa Roach, Motley Crue and Fear Factory are not really my thing so I'm keeping my options open and seeing what the Download line up has to offer.

I doubt it. I think NME don't really know what they are on about, especially when it come to the heavier side of things. Soundgarden reformation is the kind of thing Downlaod would really be after following how well Faith No More went last year, and they'd headline there whereas Soni already has it's 2 big headliners.

i'm not sure now. Some people are saying playing Sonisphere would be a lot easier on Matt Cameron with the Pearl Jam tour coming up, which kinda makes sense. Would rather they play a headlining slot at Download though where we'd get them for over 2hours. If they sub at sonisphere theyl only play for about an hour if u go by NIN & H&H's playing time last year :P

The way the lineup might work this year, they could end up with more than an hour. The reason NIN only had an hour was because there were 13 bands (if there were only 12 I think NIN would have been given about 1 hour 15- 1 hour 30).

Heaven & Hell only got just over an hour, although again the bands were running late due to the whole C&C fiasco, and the fact that Linkin Park started a bit earlier than 9 if i recall.

I really hope Soundgarden do end up at Sonisphere as it'll be amazing to see them, and tbh I think a 1 hour 15 minute set is enough for them, I don't think they have enough well known material to play a large headlining set.

Ah they do, theyr not just about the singles they have loads of amazing album tracks aswel. Yeah an hour last year for the sub headliners was a bit of a joke really - nowhere near long enough, i barely thought NIN had even started and they were finished. Needs to be at least 1hour 30mins minimum. I hope they play Download though - would rather see them in the dark than daylight also.

Apparently Green Day are NOT playing TITP now, efests has taken them off the rumours, Green Day have just announced a Scottish date on their tour a couple of weeks before TITP. Thus futher cementing they aren't playing. TITP gets announced tomorrow anyway. Eminem is playing TITP though. Word today is Soundgarden are playing Reading and Leeds

    • Was volunteering at the Women’s Cricket World Cup at Southampton yesterday. Was great fun.
    • Definitely see this as being 'weak' on paper but could see a few bumps up from previous sets at Download (Don Broco, Neck Deep etc).
    • Very different in terms of time of game,  yet remember how excited I was before the first game in Euro 2016 having grown up not sure I would ever see wales in an international tournament. That day scraped a win against Slovakia and was just happy to see wales score and win at a tournament, little did I know we would finish in the top 4. Hope Scottish fans get the same experience.
