I'd be careful about putting too much faith in that story.

The Stones PR people have a history of putting out untrue stories denying tours and the like, and it's definitely the case that a tour was being planned for 2010 .... it's quite possible tho that things have now changed (I'd guess if that's the case it's because Ronny is on the piss), so I don't discount the story altogether.

"Following recent UK media speculation, The Rolling Stones would like to make it clear there are no plans at the moment for the band to tour in 2010,"

All that says it that they won't be touring. Can't see how that rules out a 1 off gig at Glasto

yeh i admit the stones absolutely deserve to headline i just dont lyk any of their music, same for led zep, and as everyone else says if theres someone you dont want to watch, dont watch them! there plently of variety, personally im more into more modern bands lyk the killers and coldplay and dance stuff so really hoping fatboy slims there as i missed him at V last year

They stopped all bets now? No mention of the odds on oddschecker or Paddy Power anymore. That's no fun :P

I guess influx of people betting on Muse means the bookies want to close books to ensure they make a profit? Going from 4/1 to 5/4 within 24 hours is a big change.

So i'm sure that when this market was still open it said it finished Jan 10th 10pm and by that time if the headliner wasn't known then dead heat rules would apply. My bet still says pending so are we having to wait for an announcement before winning/losing this bet? If that's the case then I don't unerstand how the dead heat rule can apply.

EDIT: So I just finished a live chat with paddy power (such a great tool live chat) and they said that the dead heat rule applies if there was a dual headliner...I was told this wouldn't happen. How he could be so sure I don't know but i'd say if Glasto were to ever do a dual headline slot it would be this year because they may want to do something special for the 40th anniversary. We'll have to wait for an official announcement for our bets to be settled anyway.

    • Used had one of the biggest crowds in the Wave last year. Not really my thing but enjoyed it and the crowd were bang up for it. Might be too much of a step up on the Main though.
    • Thing is it depends on what the issues are - building a bigger stage would likely bring the Pyramid up to the relatively standard 20x20 space for "on stage" production which does make it easier for touring setups. But if for example she wants big / complex extensions going out in the field (such as she had in Rio) that would remain just as awkward to achieve without massively disrupting the rest of the day or potentially even weekend.
    • A month or so before any ballot a group of up to six is registered and a lead booker named.  That gives see tickets time to check if any individual’s registration, post code  and details appears more than once on different groups and removed then on ticket allocation day tickets the groups are just randomly balloted.  It’s felt like a ballot in the last few years, just sitting staring at the dreaded two lines, glancing nervously at the clock as time passes. Maybe the f5 refresh gave you the sense that you were actually doing something 😊
    • or can we just have Metallica back please 😄
    • Feel Stevie Wonder should be in the conversation as a random Michael Eavis headliner ala Neil Young last year.... If we did get a M.E pick for one of the headliner slots, who else would be in the mix do we think? Cher? Rolling Stones? Nicks/Fleetwood?
