Cool - I want it, but wouldn't I have to know what his computer is called and stuff to be able to shut it down? Also i don't really want to shut it down i just want to pause his downloads long enough to download a tv programme from iplayer or something then switch them back on.

He did say he was downloading a few films yesterday and it seemed to clear up at about 10:30 but that was a bit late and i ended up taking my iphone off the network and watching tv on 3g, it was much quicker.

It was so bad i couldn't even view web pages last night. grrr

Yeah you would need to know the name but that should be fairly easy to find out using social engineering techniques and he's probably left the administrator password as blank like most people do. You could just use pskill to stop the process that's running the downloads of course. :)

(I think you may be right about the 'evil' thing  )

hmm, when i'm downloading torrents, it normally makes my computer go slow. assumed it was something to do with bandwith but when my brother downloads stuff (like last night) it doesnt seem to affect me...

I spoke to the person dealing with the complaint on Saturday, basically he says the above is an option for me but states they want the phone back (only had the contract 4 months)

Other option is to add on another 250mb data free (giving me 750mb) and a one off goodwill of £50.. pretty miserable offer so am gonna try for more or just cancel the contract.

That's how I understood it too, gonna phone him again tomorrow as from what I've read they can't get the phone back (especially when I paid a small amount for it too!)

If they give me a better deal I might stay, if not I will just leave.

    • UK to strip back procurement rules to focus on job creation, says Louise Haigh https://www.ft.com/content/9878a2e4-3ac5-43b0-b2c9-b1fe1a4b65e7?syn-25a6b1a6=1   Burnham is not serious about tackling climate change. Having conditions on govt contractors is one of the easiest ways to drive standards and behaviour.

    • What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.
    • Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......
    • I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.    Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.
