Glastonbury Popularity

I was just looking at the numbers of topics. replies posted etc at the top level of the forum. By any measure Glastonbury is by far and away the most popular (of course we all know that!).

Can anyone actually work out how much more popular though - broke my head trying to....

Alternatively, on a scale of 1 - 10, how sad am I for even thinking about this?

Isn't it just a matter of looking at the forums index page - www.efestivals.co.uk/forums - and seeing how many posts / threads there are compared to the other festivals on the list. I think the oldest thread in each of them is the same since Neil archived old threads a while back?

Glasto has 339,233 replies to 13,187 topics. Assuming the first post isn't a reply, that means there are 352,420 posts in this forum. Reading has 103,770 replies to 3,768 topics, which means there are 107,538 posts in that forum. That means for every post in the Reading forum, there are 3.2 posts in the Glasto forum.

Does this help?

Oh lovely. If you save the Excel sheet as a html page, it will create a gif image for the chart - which you can save to the images section of this board, or some other picture hosting site, and then post it here for all of us to marvel at.

Doesn't the number of attendees need to be considered? I.e. if Glastonbury has 3 times as many attendees than Reading, then shouldn't it have 3 times as many posts for them to be equally popular amongst it's attendees? Or something? :P

I think you also need to take into account other forums - the Isle of Wight Festival has a very successful forum so the efestivals one doesn't attract much attention, whereas Glastonbury doesn't have it's own so this forum is more active.
