Fair enough they were great in the 90's but that was some time ago. Having watched the following video I can be sure that I will be elsewhere if they do play. With a headliner of this quality are we witnessing the end of Glastonbury? Whatever next? I shudder to think.

<Sits back and waits for the onslaught, I wonder if Coldplay fans have more of a sense of humour than U2 fans?>

Plus me and the 3 people that are going with me to thats 6.5 people on here plus the 3 with me.

Coldplay are one of those bands people like to slag off. If they play the field will be rammed simple as.

I wouldn't - can't bear Chris Martins' whiny vocal.

PS... Mr Wolf - the watcher has given me nightmares for the past 25+ years... your Avatar is terrifying me!

Coldplay are still a serious rumour and I just can't see them not making an appearance at the 40th anniversary....In some form I think they will play...

If the headliners are pretty much confirmed I can only assume it would a special guest slot or maybe open the festival Friday morning.. As they are such a large act I would assume that for crowd control they would play on the Pyramid stage...Or an acoustic slot at the park, (with special guests Noel for example ) These are my thoughts....

and these are my thoughts:

Chris Martin is a helmet of biblical proportions.

Why does everyone seem to think Coldplay have any special link to Glastonbury? They don't. They are just another band who have had a handful of average performances.

Stop thinking they are anything special. They aren't.

    • I was hoping that they would just do a tour like they were set to in 2020, rather than having Download as their UK appearance. If they are at DL, I would be surprised to see them headline. I think they sub under Deftones or SOAD
    • well, we might know by the end of next month if they drop the lineup early again
    • I'm definitely not camping 🙂.  My 17 year old Daughter and her friends are there 3 days and commuting back to Sheffield each day as didn't want to camp .  I am taking and picking up the Saturday so thought I may as well get a ticket as love Fontaines DC - need to do a lot of research on the other acts though to fill my day.    I walked through the camp site other year the day Arctic Monkeys played and it was like a War Zone.  My Son has camped a couple of times but didn't fancy my Daughter staying over.
    • Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
