as did this one.

so many acts get touted on the build up to the festival you cant help but get some right, it just seems people here focus on those correctly picked rather than the abundance of those incorrctly put forward, yet they seem so quick to point out the incorrect choices other sites make.

at the end of the day it's all just guess work of which some are backed up through sources once the actual festival draws close and at that point all sites making guesses get the same info anyways.

Very litte of what gets listed here as more than just a 'rumour' is from guesses. Most are from sources - and the years have shown them to be very accurate. Also, much of what we get we get a very long time before the acts are to be announced.

A couple of examples from last year (that you can check from posts in these forums):-

Elbow. Lots and lots of people said they "knew for certain" that Elbow were playing. I stated that I knew that they weren't. They didn't play.

Depeche Mode. We told you that they definitely weren't playing. A few weeks later it was all over the papers that they were definitely going to play quoting sources close to the band, and we kept on saying that they wouldn't be. They didn't play.

We could only say what we said with such certainty because we knew our sources for these to be 100% accurate.

We'll be bringing you more of the same this year. ;)

erm, just two actually. ;)

Meanwhile, this site was the first to reveal who the headliners were, as well as having FAR more accurate rumours of who was actually playing.

Yes, I'm blowing my own trumpet, but saying how it really is as well. ;)

eFestivals correctly predicted the headliners to all three festivals i went to last year (Glasto, V & Leeds) if i remember correctly. I know for a fact they were right about Glasto.

Yep we got all of them, as well as stating well in advance of announcements that vf got things very wrong when they said that Oasis were headlining IoW (which they've said again for next year ;);)). And many other things. ;)

Sooooooooooo at what point did they predict? Could they just do it now to put us all out of our misery and swap the 'will AKJHRURNF play? I hope so, they're fab' threads for 'goddamnit, AKJHRURNF are playing, pond sucking scum that they are, I certainly won't be watching them' threads?

Or am I missing the point, and the fun, by a country mile? ;)

Not many folks know this (the regulars will right enough) but Efests has a close relation with the NME. The NME get their sources in and then source it out to Efests. This is a kind of make shift deal they have. Efests maintain parts of the NME website and get the source work of the NME for predicitions.

Why no Prince? No Pulp and now no Prince equals the saddest of panda's. Hopefully Radiohead plays for the 40th, then.

I saw Prince last year at Coachella and he was all sorts of incredible. The man is a legend and destroys with the guitar like no other.

You know what would have been perfect headliners for 2010? Prince (legend, never played), Daft Punk (contemporary act for the youngins that will be remembered as fondly for years and years to come), and Pulp (best of both worlds, one of the most talked-about sets in Glasto history, plus is a reunion).
