I do not mind some of there stuff, but there attitude is shit. I read the other day the founder of Creation records believes Noel will become the Neil young Of his generation and Liam the John Lennon of his generation. I believe he is some what lost in space. John Lennon sung about Give Peace a Chance and other anti war songs, Liam would start a war.

Alan McGeee is just a jumped up music fan, with not much of an idea of what's particularly interesting or relevant, who happened to be in the right place at the right time, and now 'we' look to him for what's going on in the music world :( . It's his fault ( ) Oasis were taken as seriously as they were in the first place... :(

Lets face it they havent brought out a decent album since Whats the Story, but fear not, they'll probably do a money-spinning 'Reunion Tour' in a couple of years time so all you suckers can part with your money and watch the arrogant gob-shite drone out Champagne Supernova for 20 minutes and call you all a bunch of tossers again.

I disagree massively with all the talk of not having a decent album since the mid 90's. For me Dig out your soul was a brilliant album and seeing them 3 times this summer at cardiff, wembley and benicassim were 3 fantastic shows.

if this 'split' is as serious as it sounds i will be truely gutted.

Oasis certainly existed in such a massive way thanks to their first two albums which were fantastic. I think you can argue they haven't progressed too much, but to say all subsequent albums since 1996 has been tosh isn't true. They just didn't create the excitement because it just wasn't new anymore.

They have consistently produced solid reliable tunes. They're no Radiohead, they do not match Blur's diversity and even the Arctic Monkeys look far more capable of showing real music progression. But each Oasis album has produced some excellent sing along style anthems (granted, alongside some real guff) and they are an important fixture in Britsh music.

To dismiss them as a two album band isn't fair. To dismiss Liam as a cock is though.

And secondly WTSMG would be considered the best album for lots of other bans if they'd made it, which suggests it must be pretty good. I'm not saying it didn't go down hill after then mind.

Actually no. For a start it's they're not their.

I can't help but think that Noel saw the fun Blur had this summer and thought the only way to get a bit of that himself would be to break up the band so they can get back together in five years or so...

I've never seen a Glastonbury headline slot wasted like it was in 2004 on Oasis. They were truly terrible.

I'm glad they've split and I highly doubt either of them stubborn bastards will be ringing each other apologizing anytime son.

    • I read the Kerrang review and they didn’t seem overly positive. The definition of a 6 out of 10.
    • Interesting the stat guys say 3 points and -3 goal difference is where it gets to 50/50 territory in terms of going to the last 32. If Scotland lose their last 2 at best they are on -1, play like they did yesterday and they could take a heavy loss.   However thinking about it positively get 4 points from the last 2 games and the group is won! Have heard a few saying Scotland should just park the bus next 2 games, but not sure they have the players to do it. From my perspective they could really do with a decent defensive midfielder to add balance, but not sure if they have one in the squad. They also need significantly more from Mctominay who I thought was poor, but understand he has been unwell.
    • Yup and they aren't all going to get them, some are going to miss out. Speaking of this, I met someone at RIP who went to RFP and his view was band wise it's value for money but it wasn't a festival itself he'd be rushing to return to. In fairness as well he probably liked more of the headliners there than me this year whereas I was more undercard and he wasn't returning.
    • Maybe Starmer's legacy will be a war with Russia.
