Metal Music yay or nay?

ohh and how do you think a metal band would go down at glasto ?

i like some metal but mostly the older stuff ie metallica, iron maiden, black sabbath, megadeth and diamond head but i absolutely hate screamo and bands and are just noise like slipknot or enter shikari or bring me the horizon

not sure you'd call them metal but Nine inch nails would go down pretty well I think.

I prefer older Metal like Metallica, Maiden, Sabbath, etc. If they count I also like a bit of AC/DC and GnR. And again, if they count as Metal, I'm a big fan of both RATM and QOTSA.

I think if you got a massively acclaimed band with crossover appeal like Metallica, they'd go down well at Glasto.

have always wanted to see Motorhead - i think thety would go down well, Foo Fighters are they metal?

Iron Maiden would be amazing at Glasto too...

Used to like all sorts of Metal at school, Metallica, GnR Iron Maiden, Pantera and Sepultura etc.

Still listen to a bit occasionally but to be honest now i just think it's a bit too noisy.

Its a nay for metal from me.

I do like some heavy stuff, prob like most on here, but glasto is not the place for metal.

Just like it aint the place for jay-z and the rap/hip hop crap.

Metal and rap crap have their own fezzy type gigs.

please dont start the Jay-Z argument again, nobody has the right to say what music has a place at glastonbury, we had Hip-Hop years before Jay-z headlined and wel carry on having Hip-hop and weve had Metal and heavy rock in the past RATM, NIN, Tool etc Glastonbury is a place for all genres of music to come together

i cant see how being stuck in your ways can effect glastonbury, theres plenty of other stuff to do, if you dont like it just go and watch something else, the music is never going to appeal to everyone when you have an audience as diverse as Glastonbury, im not having a go at you personally im just getting a bit sick ov an issue thats more than a year old, its happened forget about it

Hate metal but I have no problem with it being at Glastonbury. all kinds of music is welcome as far as I'm concerned.

If theres metal on any of the stages I'll just be enjoying myself somewhere else - what could the problem possibly be?

I like the fact that theres all kinds of music at glastonbury and it's not genre specific - I don't need to like all of it.
