I would love to see some metal at Glastonbury. Particularly the likes of Tool, NIN etc. Would love to see A Perfect Circle there could be a sort of happy medium lol.

As much as I would love to agree to this (big Pumpkins fan) they were never a great live band, everyone always says they were average when they saw them lol. Very average when I saw them.

sepultura is just noise to me, any teenage metalhead who can thrash a guitar and smokes too many bensons can surely make the same noise as that.

Never got past 1 minute of it and can't imagine it at glasto.

Slayer started good for the first 25 seconds then that turned to ratshit as well...

Don't get me wrong I like a bit of metal and when i was a lad metal is what i was into but not this thrashy stuff.

metal to me is iron maiden, ac/dc, sabbath, saxon, motorhead etc.

anything released in the late 80's/90's is just noise to me and can't understand in what situation do you listen to it and enjoy it....??

i still listen to MY metal, just not this new thrashy noisy stuff

i wonder how empty the stage field would look with these thrash bands playing..?

if they do get to play i bet its only a mid-afternoon slot, defo no headline, or even close

I love Slayer and would love to see them live but they are not the sort of Metal for Glastonbury imo. You need something a bit more mainstream that non metal heads can enjoy

As a huge metal lover and a loyal Glasto goer, I honestly feel that there's room for a bit of heavy metal at Glastonbury. I wouldn't ever go so far as to say that the likes of Slayer would fit the bill, but Metallica, AC/DC, Deftones, Faith No More et all? Why not? There are festivals all over Europe that have bills with Metallica and Faithless on, so why not Glastonbury?

The only reason I think is because, predictably, the British public is too prudish for such a mix.

While it does seem that Rage sold out last year I suppose they did do the gigs at the Republican and Democrat convention things which gives them a tiny bit more credibility.

Personally I would want to watch them because they are f**king great live.

I think you two are both on the same page as me. Theres stuff i don't like and won't bother with if it's at Glastonbury, but that doesn't mean it shouldn't be there.

i like some metal but mostly the older stuff ie metallica, iron maiden, black sabbath, megadeth and diamond head but i absolutely hate screamo and bands and are just noise like slipknot or enter shikari or bring me the horizon
