My task for the winter is to acquire a Trailer Tent (well actually first job is to persuade Mrs Grumpyhack that it would be a good idea) and then get one.

I'll certainly use it for other festivals but still uncertain about Glasto because it might mean camping away from some of our regular Glasto Gang.

So, advice please from anyone who has camped in the caravan/campervan areas.

Also any thoughts or offers on trailer tents?

ooh liking the Baileys tip.

After driving to Glasto for the last 8 years I think next year I may take the train, not sure I could do another 8 hour traffic jam. Especially when you have to put up 10 tents at 10pm... All I wanted was that first cider.

Get a better tent with better airflow so I can sleep for longer / at all

Not over-do it on the Thursday night, so I can enjoy the Friday

Use the lock-ups

Take two trips to take everything back to the car

Next year I plan to :

1, Get there earlier on the Wednesday.

2, My fiance has never been, and its part of our honeymoon, so take her for a nice long walk round the different fields on the Thursday.

3, Make it to Shangri-la one night.

4, Eat a growler

5, Go to the queens head.

6, Go to the Pussy Parlour

7, See the fire show on the Sunday night.

  • Move camping location from Pennards to Dragons

  • Spend more time watching acts rather than back at camp

  • Spend more time with different people rather than same group

  • Try stay a bit more sober for the eFest cider bus meets

I'm gonna get away from Pennards next year. I've had two bad years up there consecutively.

And i need to not be such a lightweight next time - i missed out on lots of nocturnal activities through sheer tiredness last year. Gonna have to bring my 'A' game!

Oh, and i also need to reintroduce my early morning bimble, newspaper, coffee and juice. Never did it once this year but it's been the anchor for many great days at Glasto in the past.

I'll be doing this too - if Mrs concedes and agrees that Glasto with a 6month old (and 5yr old) is possible.

Otherwise, plan B is to head down with the 5 yr old myself - which means a new 3 man tent will be required..... and a wee trolley to haul our gear from the car.
