The Streets

My boyfriend loves The Streets but I've never been one for them at all. I went a long anyway, with him and his friends...and was blown away at the energy there. It was fantastic. I was up and dancing away for the entire set. The Billie Jean cover was wonderful and moving and I can now say I am a Streets convert! Same with Dizzee to be honest...

f**king amazing.

I love The Streets but always been a bit dubious about seeing them live as I've heard bad reports. Was a fantastic expreience, and Mike seemed genuinely emotional about being there.

And yep, the Billie Jean cover kicked ass!

was an awesome set thought i might end up regretting not seeing the specials, but that was not the case, was also dubios after seeing the streets perform for the bbc proms last year at the round house (which was f**king incredible :) ) thought they would never live up to that performance again, but again that was not the case! :D only disappointment is i haven't found any coverage of it yet on i player if anyone knows of any or could stick up a link that would be cool

Damn it.

They were awfull i few years back at TITP (Could have been the sound system on the NME stage). Would have popped along if i thought it were gonna be good.

Could you hear Mr Skinner rap? Last time i watched them you could hear the chorus but everything he said was just a ramble.

I was at that Roundhouse gig and I thought it was the most disappointing Streets performance out of the nine times I've seen them. The sound quality of the PA was very poor and the crowd were the most subdued I've ever seen at a Streets gig - I think a lot of them were there just cos it was being televised. It was on the iPlayer for a week or so immediately after but it's not now i'm afraid.

    • Audrey Hobert getting a lot of traction lately and new single on Friday. Wonder if she could be round next summer.
    • Think Pulp are optimistic, not in terms of size but just that they've been on the road (albeit not intensively) for 3 years in a row and it feels like EotR is the deliberate end of the cycle.   Would be fairly surprised if they're active next year.
    • 👍 plus they brought their own screens 📺 either side of the stage.
    • Production was the only thing that could even explain why she would back out. Like they had sorted out the financials and she was fine with it and then a production meeting happened. It all fell apart. It was very clear that she was not going to compromise her show one bit and then that show in Brazil pretty much confirmed it. There was like one element they couldnt pull off outdoors, but it was negligible since the rest was a carbon copy of the tour she had been on. Glasto is not willing to make any bold changes on the Pyramid stage so then theyre kinda stuck in terms of what some acts want/demand. I think the easiest solution to that is putting her on Friday. You deal with the changes for one night and then re configure for the rest of the weekend. In 24 they were fortunate to have had Dua and Coldplay on Fri and Sat so they could both use the b stage. But I think it was removed for Sunday?     I saw a random rag article earlier that said Olivia Dean turned down Glasto BECAUSE her ex ( not even confirmed dating ) Harry Styles was playing the fest. hahahaha
