Did anyone read the Glasto NME? they had a 'things to do at glastonbury' page. One of them was to start a rumour of a celeb death and they had michael jackson as an example. So i didnt believe it untill i got a txt off my own mother. Even then i wasnt sure.

I was walking towards the pyramid stage from the farm when some bloke jumped out of his tent, scared be half to death then started shouting at me Paedos dead, paedos dead. I said who do you mean, i thought he was talking about one of his mates had died in his tent. He was so off his head he couldn't remember Jackos name. We were watching Hobo Jones & the Junkyard Dogs. They started playing a Jacko medley - quite surreal considering the type of band they are - then gave a back-handed tribute to him at the end. We'd already heard someone start a vicious rumour that he was dead, but after this we had to check. In a very modern way - took ages to access the internet on my phone.

I was walking from Shangri-la to the Park on Thursday night and someone was yelling "MICHAEL JACKSON IS DEAD!" and some stupid bitch said it was just a rumor that she started and that he really only had a heart attack. So I told this other girl that we should start a rumor that Bono died and that his private jet flipped over one, two, three, fourteen times.

Someone (I think the same one as before) said the whole "it's just a rumor I started" bullshit a couple hours later when headling back to my tent.

I didn't believe it until Friday morning when I saw it in the paper. I guess the jokes coming from the Peel tent Friday morning should have been a clue.

I was working. Alongside another efester, William of Walworth.

We had about two minutes jump start, I think by text. Then we had floods of people coming to ask us. We were concerned about giving out hearsay, so we sought proper sources, and passed that info on. "The BBC is saying..." that kind of thing.

Within about 30 minutes it was confirmed.

We finished up our shift, and went off to catch Hobo Jones. They ended with a skiffle take on "Bad".
