Highs:

1. Blur's outstanding performance was a great ending to the festival

2. The weather (especially at the Park on Sunday morning) edit: also the people's cheer when the sun came out on Friday afternoon

3. The Specials (a dream finally came true)

4. Neil Young, just awesome...

5. The toilets in the steward camp site, nearly as clean as home!

Lows:

1. Missing Bruce Springsteen and the Shangri-La on the Saturday

2. Friday night, the mud combined with my terrible headache

3. Having to camp 2miles outside the main festival

4. My midnight-8am stewarding shift in the middle of nowhere

5. Getting a very bad sunburn

Having said that, I didn't really mind the last three but I had to find five lows...

The Highs

Blur - more than enough said! mindblowing!

Hurly Burly cafe for wonderful lovely food

Polly and Mikayla, my sis-in-law and her mate experiencing Glasto for the first time and all the wonder that brings

The rain - at 2am on Monday morning which was so very refreshing

The lovely flags in Flagtopia

The Lows

Always the walk from the car to the site, we must pack lighter next year

Falling asleep in the tent on Sat evening and realising we'd missed Bon Iver (again)

Gas canisters in the stone circle - ruins the peace and chilled vibe there

Getting to Sunday night and realising we'd not seen anything in the JP tent or the Cabaret

Sunburn on my back making a shower when I got home very painful

Highs

1. Blur.

2. Being at the festival with my best friend, we have both being going to festivals loads but always manage to pick the ones the other doesn't, needless to say it was amazing having her there

3. Our neighbours, happened to be the same age, despite all being from brighton one of them happened to have been out with a girl from our tiny village in Dorset and they all happened to have visited there. Have already planned for them to come see us all and have definitely met some really good friends, yet again Glasto :)

4. Trash City Friday night, I don't even know where I ended up but was talking to some Australian guy for ages then a man serenaded me with Micheal Jackson songs which was extremely obscure and then I got a lovely phonecall from my boyfriend at 4:30am who was at home thinking of me :(

5. Walking around by myself, never done it before and as I have no sense of direction I got very very lost, which I LOVED! Met lots of people and saw lots of things I probably wouldn't have if I was with others :]

Lows

1. Boyfriend not being there after having to sell his ticket for money, missed him a ridiculous amount and kept knowing how much he would of enjoyed things.

2. Packing wellies into car Sunday morning, biggest mistake ever!

3. Watching Blur by myself, they were amazing but I had no-one to enjoy the moment with :[

4. Giving away all my crackers when drunk and really dying for one the next day!

5. Monday morning leaving it all behind :)

Supergrass doing an hour of cover versions in The Park special guests slot (Love is the Drug and Mirror in the Bathroom partilcularly excellent)

The Early Edition and Attilla the Stockbroker in the Cabaret Tent.

The positive vibe where we camped and our lovely neighbours in the Dairy Ground

The guy singing protest songs with and acoustic guitar on Saturday night in Arcadia. Whoever you are you are a legend.

Lows:

Diahorreah.

Missing Doves due to Diahorreah.

Paranoid Pill-Head w*nkers in the dance village killing the cool.

Prodigy being very very average (wish I'd picked Blur).

c**ts in chairs with picnic rugs everywhere.

Can I add my "weirdest of the weekend" - The Mouse Circus. I thought nothing was too odd for Glasto but trust me - this was.

If it can be boiled down to five:

Highs

1. The wonderfully relaxed attitude of most people, some great random conversations

2. Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs - the most fun band on site

3. Fantastic food, mostly from the green fields

4. Broken Family Band - a real revelation live

5. The whole of Sunday, being my birthday - everything from White Lies to Blur

Lows

1. Traffic on Wednesday - by a long chalk the worst I've known it

2. The virtual inability to move at Jazz World when Rolf was on - surely they could have put someone half-decent on up against him to stop *everyone* going to Jazz World?

3. The knobs who came round with their portable sound system blasting Friendly Fires at about 4am

4. The inability of people to crap into a hole bigger than their arse - though this is not unique to Glasto

5. Crap phone reception and pretty useless Chill & Charge

Ok, so I had to think hard to come up with 5 bad things but there you go.

I forgot an additional high.

Meeting Don Letts in the 24 hour breakfast cafe near the Other stage. Idol of mine for years and really nice when I did the star struck idiot thing and asked for a photo. He actually put his arm round me for it.

:)

1. Pendulum mixing up Metallica with Slam, what a mash up.

2. The G Stage at dance village, a great fall back when there was f** all else going on

3. EODM - Down and dirty desert rock and roll, proving hard rock/metal can be played at Glasto (as long as its early and the crowd surfing moshsters are still in bed)

4. Welsh Oggies, massive meal for only 4 quid, best meal deal on the site

5. The wine bar near to Other Stage belting out Thin Lizzy/Led Zep and other great groups and songs

:)

1. Crush at Trash City/Shangri La Saturday Night, quite scary in places

2. Debs and hoorays snorting lines of coke and thinking its fab to get mucky with the oiks while spending Daddies inheritance and not having a clue about their surroundings

3. Beer swilling tattooed twats in fenced off uber tents getting mullered by 9 am and shouting Oy! Oy! Benedorm style the rest of the day.

4. Chairs and picnic rugs like its Glyndbourne or something

5. Prodigy, 1 hour set, no encore, no volume, dissapointing boys, you said it was about time you played Glasto again and ended up just going through the motions......... and Maxim, shut the f**k up and do the songs.

  • Queues at the Brothers Bar! (Why don't they put up two!)

Lows

2. The total shit tip the site was left in when we left at 3pm on Monday

3. Crap headliners on the Pyramid - what a wasted trek

4. The Prodigy - 2nd time live since 1996 - they have not improved in 13 years sadly

5. Not being able to be in 3 places at once - too many clashes on the smaller stages

HIGHLIGHTS:

- Blur.

- Drinking pear cider for the first time.

- Seeing my Dad pissed.

- The nice food which is a higher standard than other fests.

- Just the whole thing. People are right when they say the thought of going to any other festival is a bit boring afterwards.

LOWLIGHTS:

- The traffic jams on the way in.

- Finding out about Jacko's death. I got over it quickly but it put a bit of a downer on the Thursday night.

- Finding out the Park Stage special guests were Klaxons instead of Metallica.

Florence and the machine totally suprising me with her eccintricity and amazing voice

the dead weathers being a special guest (made my f**king weekend)

The king blues doing a fantasitic set at the queens head on saturday night and then going over to see franz Ferdinand play my favourite song of theirs.

the welsh drug addict in the tent next to us trying to set up a neigourhood watch while high as a kIte

LOWLIGHTS

that bloody f**king long queue for trash city/shangri la on Saturday night, only to find out I had to f**king queue again to get in to any of the places!!!

Some bastard with his kid on his shoulders for Madness at the very front, pissed me and many others off.

His kid was a dick too.

Rain coming down in the hour I went for a nap before taking all my luggage to my car to go home, creating a major mudfest.

Missing fight like apes but saw tom jones who was amazing so I guess I won't count that.

Nerd getting cut off half way through a bloody song. Don't care whose fault it is they came out late, you don't f**king cut a song out halfway through!!!

Some of those flags were bloody brilliant but dear god, the shit ones should f**k off. Seriously, why have you come with a f**king pigeon on a stick or I'm here printed on a flag? I could barely see blur, had to watch the tv monitor!

And an extra one, a picture I took just as my mate told me michael Jackson had died so know that photo, which is beautiful, will always remind me of the time when micheal Jackson died. Very sad in both ways!

Bruuuce - never been a fan, but I really enjoyed the 2 1/2 hours

Madness - I never realised I knew virtually every line to every song

Sitting in the sun on the hill above the Park stage on Saturday afternoon. Wonderfully relaxing, and a superb view over the site.

The variety of all the non musical performances and non musical areas of the festival

LOWLIGHTS

  • The crowds, it seemed too packed at times

The weather on Thursday evening/Friday morning, and the mud on Friday

The sound on the other stage on Friday that partly spoilt seeing The Rakes and White Lies

    Aahhh... my aching feet

HIGHS

Sitting in a wicker dome in the Healing Field on Thursday afternoon, in the sunshine, with Rabid. Supping a box of rose, which was still cool, just me & him, not another soul around. Well, so it seemed. One of life's perfect moments.

Tom Jones, in a FABULOUS frock I'd found in a "2 for a Fiver" box on my way up to Greenpeace to marry Rabid (he wore the other one, naturally) & a feather boa. Knicker flinging, a pint of Burrowhill & special fudge helped things along nicely.

Dan le Sac & Scroobius Pip secret gig in the Igloo, totally random & one of the acts I really wanted to see.

Mim Souleiman's gig in The Glade. We wandered through there on our way somewhere (we never have worked out where!) & there was this immense voice coming out of this tiny woman, singing gorgeous traditional songs, accompanied by a guy doing the most amazing beatbox . A true Glasto find, random, unexpected, totally sidetracked us. Briliant.

The thunderstorm. Less said about that the better!

Walking up to the very top of Flagtopia before we turned round, not long after arriving on Wednesday. The view & the sound. Ice cold Pimms too. Perfect. Then, in The Park as we were lounging on some wooden benches, Sir Eavis pulled up in his landrover & started wandering around. Cool!!

Spending Glastonbury with someone I love. I've been several times before & had loads of different experiences there - I've been in the 80s, I've worked there & I've been on my own & with mates. But going there with my soulmate was just perfect.

LOWS

Losing Rabid's phone between the campsite we were at the night before & getting to Glasto & thinking it was my fault. But when we got back to the car when we left, he found it in the tent we'd used that night, so that ended up a high.

The wait geting in. But we had a cracking mixtape on in the car so that wasn't too bad either.

Leaving. But all those memories.............So, another high!

I know It's not 5 Highs/5 Lows, but there are 10 in total so that's OK I hope!!

    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
